It's because he can't really play that shit, from what Levi, Jack, and others have said, who have heard him play at NAMM shows and other places where he wasn't allowed to fake his playing.

Like most instagram famous guys, Manuel Gardner Fernandes etc, they fake all their videos through a combination of miming, camera and recording speed fuckery, and can't even remotely play that shit for real.

That's why he doesn't do a lot of "normal" musician stuff that shows off those "monster chops" - because he doesn't have them.
 
It’s weird because I have a ton of demo’s I did in the late 90’s and early 2K’s, that I know will never be fleshed out out into a proper songs in a band w/vocals. On one hand, I’d be bummed if I posted some and they got ripped off but on the other hand I’d be stoked to hear it, if done well by a decent band or singer, as at approaching 55, it sure isn’t going to be done by me. The need for compensation vs. the desire for your art to be out there and hopefully appreciated 🤷‍♂️.
For me personally, just to be credited might be enough, if money wasn’t coming.

I remember that...that piece of shit's name is Robert Brown and he goes by xkingofshredx (what a fucking joke...) on Instagram and ripped-off Cerberus Guitars after they loaned him a guitar. He's another online mime and that guitar was not the only thing he's stolen, he "sold" someone a Quad Cortex but they basically received a box with no QC in it, probably a list of others he's ripped-off along the way. Real piece of shit.

That dude can barely play IRL and edits his IG videos to look like a monster AS WELL as ripping a bunch of people and companies off.

I agree, wholeheartedly. Hopefully this thief is relegated to performing on Instagram and shunned by any bands but I see he's posting as usual and people are still praising him so I'm sure the cycle will continue.

This is just my personal boomer-y opinion, but I think the social media age has made the guitar universe much shittier than we had it as youngsters

Back in the day, the only people who would get sponsorships were real guitar players in real bands with real chops, and the world made sense.

Now every small company is falling over themselves to send free gear to Instagram "Guitarists" who can't actually play and rip people off on the regular.

It's just a smaller, shittier guitar world we live in

He has done much more than that. I remember in the old HRI forum he was promoting his stuff a lot, and even posted a chart about cables and plugs; he was claiming he had those made especially for him, which were a lot better with lab tests to prove it.
Till someone removed the sheath and discover a Belden cable and Neutrik jacks.

Then he messed with Bonamassa, and Landau and Robben Ford wrote letters to take distance to his business.
