We gotta hang out sometime. I would love to see how you dial in my amp
You have skills dialing in a rhythm tone. Seriously. This is why i want you to use it and record some death metal. I dont give a fuck if you like it. I think it would be nastyThat's just a throwaway quick rhythm sound
That's fair, I do
It's a very common shorthand used by every generation (gen x, millennials, zoomers) after boomers, because there is a very sharp cultural divide that boomers basically created
If you'd like a thoughtful socio-politcal exploration of this, I can direct you places (youtube: vox day's "why do I hate boomers" edit: its this video I was thinking of, not the "why do I hate boomers" )
But my Mom is a boomer, and it's obviously not all boomers that do "the boomer thing." NABALT, as it were.
There is a very real reason that we all say and use the word like that though, and it would be a very "boomer" thing to just rail against it without understanding why.

Dang it I started that video but after he noted that Boomers always think their gen is different than everybody else…then as soon as he mentioned his gen (GenX) he started talking about how his gen was different from other gens.
I’ve been saying forever we’re all the same since Socrates and Plato. Always different details but still the same.
Is there a person on Earth that actually enjoys Pearl Jam's vocalist? To be fair, I hate Tim Henson and Kiss (ask @rsm ) and Pearl Jam vocalists (ask @Smash ) just as much - it's just a matter of you taking offense to me talking about boomer shit when it comes up on the "EVH took a shidd one time hoss" thread that gets posted every nanosecond.
Is there a person on Earth that actually enjoys Pearl Jam's vocalist?
I'm not certain there are many who would stand and defend his vocal 'talents'.
I could go on about many bands but Kings of Leon and Pearl Jam are definitely on the list of "TURN IT OFF AS FAST AS YOU CAN"
Why did I mention Kings of Leon with Pearl Jam? They both sound like they are making crying hound dog noises or something when they sing.
The money train and copycats always follow after the successful ones. Pearl Jam was basically manufactured if I recall anyway. Many are, I know.I could not possibly agree more, could not like this comment fast enough
What's even worse is the vocalists that are "inspired" by his singing - kind of how when you use a copy machine and it degrades over each generation
Like that one hit wonder The Calling "Wherever you will go" song. It's Eddie Vedder's "vocal style", if were trying to be generous, but an even more degraded, obnoxious facsimile. And added to the most boring, awful music possible.... "Post grunge"

I think Hootie & the Blowfish also qualifies. I have no idea why or how, but surely it must.Tool (the only band named after their target audience)

Well. I can tell you two may want to stay out of my covers thread I am about to do..it may send you into fitsI could not possibly agree more, could not like this comment fast enough

Yes he did a good job at showing how shitty channel one sounds in these 70’s metal panels. I absolutely hate that typical channel I bright cap tone. Nothing worse than that shrill clanky, garbage, play the guitar with a screwdriver tone. The channel II stuff sounded good.I think he kept the mic in the same place to showcase differences instead of micing them to have their best individual tone. I think he accomplished what he intended very well if that’s the case. He proved that the bright cap has more use in channel II than in channel I.
Stop making fun of me manThe same thing that's wrong with Tim Henson. It's overdone, obnoxious, and annoying to listen to boomers play the same 3 pentatonic licks and cowboy chord rhythms.
You know what is wild? I had songs I disliked completely in my set-list and I was the one who ran it for the band lmao That being said, my versions/covers of those songs were wildly different in ways than the originals for sure.Well. I can tell you two may want to stay out of my covers thread I am about to do..it may send you into fits
How do you think I felt when I learned CCR had never even seen the Bayou when they wrote "Born on the Bayou" and things like that. I could veer heavily into the much more terrible things I have come to learn and view in plain sight but that is more for the OTC.basically everything from that era was "manufactured" the way we think of things now - specifically with pearl jam though, I hate how much of hypocrites they are. Pontificating about saving the whales and the evils of the free market while being millionaires and all that.

Back on topic, I loved his Gilmourish pedals vid. Nice thick Tube driver tones.
