Dude killer!! The snorkler is the one bogner I haven't yet played but really want to try.

As of now, the helios/eclipse is my favorite model, but I have a feeling the snorkler would be really cool too.

Bogners are generally voiced a bit darker than marshalls normally are, which takes some getting used to, but i'm interested to hear what you think of it!

Its def not as bright as a 2203 but im not missing high end on this.

So far im diggin it! More time with it tonight exploring diffrent cabs

Congratulations!!! They make some amazing gear. Haven’t tried a Snorkler yet- curious about your take on it vs a 2203! Particularly boosted into chug territory….. lol

Congrats!! Great way to get a 1st Bogner. This and the Rev 1 are to me the 2 best amps Bogner ever made

I AB’ed it with my stock 1979 JMP2203 that I’ll get modded later. I liked the Snorkler more overall. The 2203 sounded more raw, organic by being a vintage amp and a bit bigger and more open by being 100w and not high gain, but I enjoyed more the sound and feel of the Snorkler. More juicy, chewy, saturated, rich, thicker mids and with a unique stickiness to its feel. Very easy to play feel. A stock 2203 is great too, but in some ways a bit more vanilla

I like it more than the Helios (haven’t tried an eclipse). Guy’s don’t seem to talk about it, but there’s also this sticky quality to its feel that is really nice. Sort of like the Naylor’s in that way, but otherwise very different than those amps

When AB’ed vs my stock ‘79 JMP2203 currently with 6550’s, it is darker, but not so much darker. Most of their other amps like the Shiva’s, XTC’s and Uber’s are a lot darker than it

Congrats!!

I too am a recent Snorkler purchaser...to me, it's the best 50w modded Marshall I've owned. I don't hear anything in the amp that isn't Marshall...the chewy-ness is similar to my 68 SuperTrem, feel is as good as anything short of a C+. Great clarity, and by engaging the loop vol you can crank the MV a little and use the loop vol to get a nice low vol while getting power tube compression/gain.
Great through my 80s Marshall Vintage cabs, and greenbacks.
Killer amp!

This is good info! I’ve always wanted a 2203 to boost the hell out of however with my bogner collection growing I think I might have to put this snorkler in my crosshairs.. the way you reference the raw, organic, big, open sound vs the chewy, rich, saturated/easy to play reminds me of my Rev2 vs Blue uberschall’s in the high gain world haha (minus the vanilla.. nothing vanilla about those monsters O_o .. but I get what you are sayin regarding the stock 2203!) I am very much enjoying the raw/organic feel at the current moment. However if the snorkler will get me into chugging territory much easier & better than the 2203 then I will defiantly be considering it. When you mentioned “rev1” in the above post which amp were you referencing?

I do find the Snorkler of those 2 for me to sound and feel better for palm mutes, but found more thump on the 2203's with their 100w powersections. It's not like a Rev 2 vs Rev Blue Uber IME. I guess with the 2203 I meant vanilla as in flavor, but like a high quality, organic, pure vanilla if that makes sense lol, where it's still better than a lesser quality, more processed version of chocolate or another more interesting flavor. I meant the Rev 1 Uber. Honestly I didn't care much for the Rev Blue or later Uber's. The Rev 2's I didn't play enough to have as much opinion on it, but I'd probably really like it from what others say

Its very marshall. Maybe a bit less low end than 2203. But overall a better amp

And the bias feature is great!

Plate voltage of 465. Yours the same @braintheory - always interesting to see how a eu version is against a US. The noise floor is not bad at all. ive read places that there was some noise

That’s what thought you ment.. you are a man of class 🤌 I don’t have a Rev1 but I hear very good things. I can’t imagine my green being too much different since it’s a fairly low serial. However I won’t know until you let me borrow your Rev1 to try them out 👀 lol I see what you are saying- nice chocolate reference. Willy Wonka would be proud lmao I thought you meant like Breyers Bland Booorrringgg ass vanilla.. because that’s sadly been my experience with your everyday regular jcm800.. Figured I’d give the 2203/2204 a go since a good friend of mine has a few laying around from the 80s but now this snorkler has me intrigued. Just looking for the most brutal Marshall tone.
