My friend has one he's selling, and I don't have any Les Paul in my life. I've got an Epi my dad inherited from a family member that passed and he basically gave it to me after having it several years....but that's just a plain ol' cheap Epi LP Standard I think it is. My friend has an FGN NLS10RFM that he was selling for $900 last time I checked. He took it off CL because of so many douche waste of time offers, and I totally understand. It comes with the original pickups, but he currently has EMG 57/66s in it.

If you play it and like it I don’t see how you can go wrong at $900. That factory has built some fine guitars. It’s beautiful if you like that type of top/finish.

I've personally never heard anything but praise for FGN guitars

And that one def looks sweet af

Does anyone know if they have a thicker slab of maple, or just a veneer?

On their website it just says "flamed maple top"

I'd hope if it was a veneer they'd say that but who knows. You'd have to pull a pickup to be sure. Is your friend the one who put the EMG's in there?

Would guess it's not a veneer given it's FujiGen's house brand.
Ask your friend to remove the rings and take a look.

I have a History brand LP, built by FGN for a specific retailer over there. Nice guitar, real flame maple cap too. I also have another Greco Sykes; the Grecos seem to be more ‘authentic’ LP vs the History.
Nice guitars and you can’t go wrong with any MIJ LP imo.

He took it to a local guitar shop. He messaged me one day trying to get some clarification on what to do to put them in himself, but didn't have the proper soldering tools, or the patience, so he took it to a shop lol

@NowYou'rePlayingWithPower if you can tell by just pulling the rings instead of the whole pickup (which is WAY easier), I'll just ask him to do that so I'll know. Thanks for the pro tip.

I had a Burny Custom back in the day I LOVED, but ended up selling it. I'd really rather buy a sweet Burny LP Custom, or Greco or something for that Gibson headstock, but prices on those axes have climbed a lot.

He will probably need to wedge his phone up with the flash on and take a pic to get a good enough look. Would recommend removing the rear control plate first, but didn't say anything because it may be painted inside and hard to tell. But if it's flamed maple on the inside where the pots go through than it's probably going to be a solid top.

So, was just reading on their Japanese site that the top is a flame maple veneer over a solid maple top. Sorry 🤷‍♀️
