Peter which cab are you preferring so far?
Yesterday I was only on a 70’s Marshall cab with 20 watt greenbacks. Sounded great. Didn’t even try othersPeter which cab are you preferring so far?
What style of music are you partial to? I bet it sounded amazing! Keep me posted on your findings, & enjoy that thing![]()

Is it Turret-Board-Constructed? Do you have Gut-Shots?Its very marshall. Maybe a bit less low end than 2203. But overall a better amp
And the bias feature is great!
Plate voltage of 465. Yours the same @braintheory - always interesting to see how a eu version is against a US. The noise floor is not bad at all. ive read places that there was some noise
No gutshots. Didn’t have to remove headshell to biasIs it Turret-Board-Constructed? Do you have Gut-Shots?

Yeah I’d be curious to AB a Rev 1 and 2. The more recent made 2203’s can sound brittle and many feel the horizontal input versions starting in 1984 didn’t sound as good, but haven’t had much experience with them. By nature I don’t find Marshall’s to be brutal type amps, but love them for other things. Brutal to me would be a Rev 1 Uber, Megaltih Beta or Blueface with their heavier low end qualitiesThat’s what thought you ment.. you are a man of classI don’t have a Rev1 but I hear very good things. I can’t imagine my green being too much different since it’s a fairly low serial. However I won’t know until you let me borrow your Rev1 to try them out
lol I see what you are saying- nice chocolate reference. Willy Wonka would be proud lmao I thought you meant like Breyers Bland Booorrringgg ass vanilla.. because that’s sadly been my experience with your everyday regular jcm800.. Figured I’d give the 2203/2204 a go since a good friend of mine has a few laying around from the 80s but now this snorkler has me intrigued. Just looking for the most brutal Marshall tone.
I measured 498 unloaded plate voltage for mine. Not sure what it is loaded. Mine is noisy, but not too bad. Not as noisy as the UU I had wasIts very marshall. Maybe a bit less low end than 2203. But overall a better amp

Oh yeah you only played them through 20w GB’s, one of the best speakers ever, no big dealYesterday I was only on a 70’s Marshall cab with 20 watt greenbacks. Sounded great. Didn’t even try othersmaybe tonight I can try more
I love them as wellOh yeah you only played them through 20w GB’s, one of the best speakers ever, no big deal. I find mine likes all speakers I’ve tried and of course sounded best with my favorites: 20w GB’s, Altec 427B’s and C’s and JBL D120F’s
No idea lol. That’s just how I know how to measure it. And dibs if you ever wanna sell those 20w GB’s lolI love them as well
I haven’t measured without tubes. I never do. Is it okay to do that?
