fun times lolI hate you
Yeah, and so did to greater or lesser extents Angus Young, Jimi Hendrix and so on.Ed singlehandedly changed rock guitar. Let 'em complain. LOL
That'd be cool but tagging isn't an option AFAIA brother. Not sure if we have tagging here?
maybe add #VanHalen tag or similar key words to thread titles? Then we could search on the tag, sort by date/time, etc. to find any topic...
the search here seems to need quite a few characters to work too; maybe tags would help that too?
No he’s not! He's no Satch, that's for sure
Satch can play Eddie just fine.No he’s not!
“just fine” is way to generous.Satch can play Eddie just fine.
Eddie could never play Satch though....
Of course there are Van Halen impersonaters who could probably trick you into thinking they are closer to Eddie. The thing is that they've been playing Van Halen stuff since they first started where as Satch has done thousands of things through the years, across all genres. Be honest with yourself.“just fine” is way to generous.
I’ve heard far better.
Damn straight!Satriani taught Steve Vai, John Petrucci, Kirk Hammett and others that have become guitar legends. People keep claiming that Eddie changed guitar but don't really know the history of guitar at all.
There’s far too many resources available to claim the “ignorant” card and to even bring that up was a strawman at best. It’s clear as crystal that Satch straight up struggles his way through VH tunes. Howard Stern only proved this true.FIFY.
Damn straight!
Great song!
… they did it better 43 years ago
I'm not pulling the strawman card, and I shouldn't be penalized for your ignorance. It's a fact that Joe's legacy is much greater than Eddie's whether we're talking music, inspiration or the history of it.There’s far too many resources available to claim the “ignorant” card and to even bring that up was a strawman at best. It’s clear as crystal that Satch straight up struggles his way through VH tunes. Howard Stern only proved this true.
Ed and Joe were the same age, and basically came of age together. The difference is that Ed consistently wrote great songs that people love and could sing along too and Satch does not, and album sales proves it- VH sold 80M records worldwide… Satch sold 10M.
Who cares who taught who. While Joe may have been teaching Vai, Ed taught the whole world!
And now Joe’s playing in a Van Halen cover band. How ironic.I'm not pulling the strawman card, and I shouldn't be penalized for your ignorance. It's a fact that Joe's legacy is much greater than Eddie's whether we're talking music, inspiration or the history of it.
Ed was in a band, he played like shit towards the end, would play sloppy and drunk. He's dead, the band is still going. The world is still going. Joe has a music school, holds conferences, etc.
Ed's records have sold millions, Satch's actions have reached billions. Ed didn't teach shit lol If Ed taught the world, than so did every youtube guitarist from this generation. Lastly, you don't care because the fact isn't for your argument and you're not willing to admit Joe is a better player. It's okay..... But as a fanboy of Ed's, I guess I understand, you autistic little shit.
