GE-10 where have you been all my life??

After years of wanting one, I finally pulled the trigger on a late 70's GE-10. Holy $hit the hype is real! It kicks total ass. If you have a modded amp or even a stocker, this thing sounds like a natural extension of the amp. None of that super hi fi sterile coloring you get with eq pedals. It just sounds so natural. I would say there is a reason it is as highly regarded as the PQ3 in tone folklore. If this is on VH1 or 2, I can see where that grind is coming from. You put this on a cranked plexi and it is going to tighten just right and give you that much more. So good. Can't wait to try this with the RR disto+ I ordered. This might just become my boost pedal.

I have two of them, and agree with everything that the OP said, regarding sounding like an extension of the amp, and tightening things up perfectly.

The perfect tool for dialing in your tone! May as well bolt it down to the top of your amp 😆

slightly off topic, any love for the newer Boss EQ-200? I recently got the Ibanez Pentatone EQ, but the boost is only +/- 6 db; the EQ-200 has +/- 15 db.

I have it and I very much enjoy it.
some of the praise of the vintage GE-10 is analog, and not sterile digital. I'd prefer something that doesn't color the tone other than my EQ settings. What are your thoughts?

I noticed there's a price drop on the EQ-200 - not sure if that means a new version or they're not selling...I may pick one up.

I can't speak to analog vs digital, so much of my rig is digital I couldn't possibly identify anything specific to the pedal there.

I like it because of the dual mono routing and the MIDI control.
