Seriously? Have not noticed the loss of signal volume when the string is bent past the top of the pole piece? Or how your tone vibrates in and out of phase when pick the low E super hard? Or the minute differences between solid pole pieces and the ones that have the adjustment screw? Why?
That look’s not for me. I’ll stick with the original design.
Not sold on the rails, but I have used Duncan's with A8's quite a bit.
My favorite was an S-Deco Custom shop, with two rows of hex screws and an A8. Had just the right amount of drive, tightness, brightness and no weird/offensive mid frequencies.
To be honest, I did hear this with a Duncan Little '59 (with the tiny pole pieces) in the middle position of a Kramer SM-1, when making quite dramatic bends on the 12th fret or higher, as it would move the string more relative to the pickups.Seriously? Have not noticed the loss of signal volume when the string is bent past the top of the pole piece?
STK-2’s were the shit too.I'm set; I already have one of these:
I buy one of those if you decide to do it.Personally I’d want to try a Nazgûl / Jazz rail combo.
I have no need for an A8 JB rail but I’d buy it in a heartbeat to convert it over to ceramic magnet and make a Duncan distortion rail. That would be badass.
