Slightly higher output but still less than ceramic. Solos maintain that warmth character. I will say A8 is one of those magnets that either you love it or you hate it.

Personally for rhythm A8 solves a problem that didn’t exist. Use your neck pickup for warmth and ceramic is king for rhythm IMO.
 
EMG's from the start always had bars if I'm not mistaken. I don't know if you can really hear a huge difference tho.. Maybe you can.
People are used to what was already around. Anything different may be hit of miss..
I like the look of them. I think screws are kinda dumb. It's probably what was there and it just caught on.. Screws and Slugs for yo ass..

Screw poles were added so Gibson could market adjustability as a feature. The initial PAF cover design had no holes for a clean look. Having only one row of screw poles wss a compromise.

While A5 is rather scooped, A8 is thick in the low mids and lows. Imo, it works well in in bridge PUs when mixed with ceramic boosters, or if it is a thick A8 magnet as opposed to a regular sized one.

I'd want an alt8 pickup but with that rail design. The JB might be close though.

Well i would not rule out that nazgul-rail pu with the A8. When i had the jupiter, i thought it was just too thin, so i got some a8 made for it and it made the pickup a lot better, not overbearing in low mids at all.
Since the nazgul seems to be a similar wind, this could work equally well.
