Hello friends, new here :) I was wondering if anyone has ever applied a holoflash finish on their guitar if you could share info and tips? Thank you!

There's a handful of guys who have (myself included) The clearcoat is the hardest part typically. If you want something professional I can recommend a few guys. Watcha painting?

I've been planning to refin the top of cheap guitar I have that came with many finish imperfections. Looks like this holoflash can be applied direct to satin or gloss poly top coats, no need to prep?

The guitar sounds, feels and plays great, they just messed up the finish, unfortunately

If it doesn't look good, I can always do the refin I planned.

I'm thinking of getting the silver holoflash, and cover the finish blem areas first, at the lower end past the stopbar, and around the pickup selector, where you can see the white haze:

The project is to holoflash an old Kramer, I have now scanned the entire web and seen every available video on how to. However, noone, and I repeat, noone has done it the proper way - the way it was done in the 80s. Every single video I watched applies the holoflash on the top of the guitar, however they do not clear-coat it. After a lot of research and asking around (online) actual people/luthiers from guitar brands back in the 80s, the trick is to apply polyester clearcoat. You should not be able to “feel” the holoflash tape under your fingers if you touch the guitars. Now, who would do that for me in the UK…. no idea :P

There was a guy a long time ago. There are 2-3 in the US who do phenomenal jobs.
