On several YT inserts on a thread when I click to play it, a request to sign in to prove I’m not a bot appear in the YT window. Not sure if it’s RT or Google. I have YT open separately and I’m definitely signed in on both RT and YT….

Edit….not doing it anymore after going to try different threads. it was happening on multiple posts in the VH1 amp thread but not anymore. Guess the page just needed to refresh or something.

You must be using a VPN and not signed in into Google. Your IP address is shared with others and doing too many hits on Youtube so they apply some restrictions. This has nothing to do with the board.

I have the same "problem" skoora.

Signed-in with YouTube window saved as a tab. Still get the sign-in "warning" for embedded videos.

This only started happening a few months ago AFAICR. Thought it was just me.

I don’t use a VPN. I was signed in to Google. Not a big deal, seems to be fine now.

That's really weird if you're not using a VPN. Though, you might think you're not using one but maybe you are. If you're on a mac, iPhone or iPad with Safari and have activated iCloud private relay, then that would be the reason.

If not any of this, then it doesn't make sense, especially if you're connected to your Google account on Youtube.

It’s happening again. Refreshing the page and site didn’t change it. What’s weird is one page of a thread with several YT inserts, one video played but the rest did this.

Could be I guess 'cause I'm on Safari on an old desktop Mac.

Don't know what Japetus is using...

it looks like it could be due to old versions of Safari. I'm still trying to figure out what the issue is but it doesn't seem to be related to this forum as I see a lot of people having the same issue on different websites.

Since you're all using Safari on macOS or iOS, are you sure you do not have "Private Relay" enabled in iCloud?
'cause that would be the reason for this.

Yeah na. Nothing fancy-schmancy about my 2012 desktop setup.

Thanks Nico.

It happened to me just now on Gear Page and a pedal manufacturers site. So possibly just a Safari thing. It’s weird. There could be a post with 3 videos in it and it won’t do it on all of them.
