I like it. Looking forward to the rest of the album.

Also looks like a new finish on the EBMM Majesty, looks like a silver metal flake / sparkle, with Majesty pickup covers.

I was just about to post this, lol.

Song is cool, sounds like Dream Theater! JP's new silver metallic guitar looks great, too.

I liked it! The song feels like they are picking up after the Black Clouds album. Excited to hear the rest of the album and seeing them live in March

Cool song till the solos start then it's just more of the same for me. I miss the early days when it wasn't all about playing as fast as they can and they actually crafted fitting solos.

Wait a minute ? I thought you didn’t like flash ?

that's just no flash for me.

for other's it's fine; and I even enjoy it: e.g., Holdsworth, Petrucci, Emerson, Wakeman, Rudess... above my level tho'

I feel you . Good musicians !

Also, there's tasteful flash and there's musically meaningless flash for flash's sake.

JP's playing is flashy and some people might even argue it's not always the most stankface-inducing "emotional" playing whatever that means, but imo it's always intentional and deliberate flash, and you can tell a lot of thought goes into it. It's the farthest thing from the sweep-picking-on-autopilot thing a lot of "fast" players do.

Another DT album... must mean it's time to pimp a new guitar and pickup set...lol!

Yes. There's a new EBMM Majesty I plan to get; no pickup changes, just new finishes.

Used to like DT 25 years ago. Can't stand Labrie's vocals anymore and the music is self absorbed and all sounds the same.. 2 minutes in and have to abort. 10 minutes of this is just painful to listen to. Great musicians making music that is exhausting to listen to.

Never liked his vocals, music is good

Well said. Something about their earlier work kept James' voice tolerable for me, and I could really get into the music as a whole. Nowadays I cringe as soon as his vocals come in. They have become the cheesiest sounding popular prog band IMO, and the song writing isn't what it used to be. Glad to see Portnoy is back.

At this point I doubt they'd ever replace James. Too bad because JP is a monster player and I never listen to DT anymore.

Sounds like DT. Maybe a little bit too much like DT? I do like that Portnoy is back and will go see them on this tour.

...and a tour. They are professional musicians so making albums, selling merch, and going on tour is pretty much the deal.

It sounds like DT and it would be almost impossible to have it sound as fresh as it did 30+ years ago. They wouldn't be the first or last band/artist to put out their best stuff early on. I thought the solo was pretty cool.

Rudess is a badass but sometimes I wish they would play 3-piece with Rudess on tambourine or cowbell...or holding a pillow over LaBrie's mouth.

Band sounds more energized than they have in awhile, but la brie really holds them back. Same melody every single song.

I dig it! As much as I love DT, I just can't stand the epic 10 minute plus songs. Don't get me wrong, they are all great musicians, but I get lost after about 6 minutes into each song.
