Jose sighting in the wild

Legit Jose A modded amps, IF you can find one AND verify that it's legit are 5 figures these days. I believe Red Plated found 2 a couple years back....he can chime in on what he paid if he wants.....
More C+s come up for sale than legit Jose amps.
Too rich for me but like Square said, it'll go for low to mid teens IMO.

These things do sound great there’s no doubt, but outside of the collectors reasons for owning it, not a chance. I just feel like we have really nailed that sound by tons and tons of other manufacturers, modders etc. it is cool and if I had money to burn then sure why not, but as far as tone? I dunno, this is just been done many times since then I feel like. Plexis are especially great mod platforms, modders love their high plate voltage and this tone can be had with similar amp and mod for much, much cheaper. Still, a very cool piece.

The sad thing is it probably doesnt sound as good as any of the top amps out there now. Unless you are stuck trying to cop an early vh tone.
Boomer trap
Well. It’s like all of those early mods; once it’s out there, you would assume tech things can only get better.. Remember when Atari came out? Was the shit… SEGA. Wii.. PlayStation 69 will probably suck your weiner when it comes out. Just sayin.

Btw, I was offered that exact amp a while back for 12k

Crazy collectors out there, so, I have no doubts he’ll get more than that now.
Haha, same. I had a chance to buy this Jose too ($15k) but just couldn't pull the trigger. I was planning on playing a long game and holding onto it for a decade or more. My hesitation was that I was concerned there would be a very small market for this amp in another 10-20 years.

Cool amp. I’d just like to comment that I was told by Mark Cameron that the store he worked for in the early 1990s acquired all of Jose‘s old amps and partially built amps along with all of the parts Jose used to modify amps. The store he worked for had him finish, at least 12 Marshall amplifiers and they were all sold off by the store as Jose modded amplifiers. I’m not saying this amplifier was not modded by Jose, but I am saying that there are quite a few out there that Mark Cameron actually finished. I believe Mark told me that he saw a picture of the Jose Mike Fortin had and Mark thought that was one of the ones he finished.

I literally dont think there is any more magic by "jose" than cameron. But i dont care about autographs or van halen's sweat or any of that nonsense. I care about what something sounds like. Collector stuff is great but all my shit gets played.

To each their own

I think to most people this just looks like a vintage Marshall someone took a meat cleaver to. What could I do with nineteen grand? Take a year off, finish my sportster, and take a long road trip with some biker friends. Always wanted to hit that el diablo run into Baja.
