This was delivered to me today. Unfortunately, I have to finish my shift before I can play it....

I'll report later...

Sexy as hell! That sucks about having to go to work. That used to happen to me all the time! Enjoy when you get home, she's a beauty!

I just sold mine. As many pickups as I swapped, I still couldn’t get it to sound right. I really wanted to like it because I loved the aesthetic. Turned around and bought a new Gibson Victory and immediately fell in love with it. Maybe my V was just a dud.

Modded Twin Reverb clone plus new vintage Flying V=win. That thing looks clean as can be too. Nice score.

@Fusionbear is on a dang roll lately. I nominate him for RIG TALK Tone Kimg of the month. Where's @Devin with your Tone Kimg trophy?

So, it's a keeper. I removed the protective plastic off the pickguard this evening and gave it a very detailed inspection. The fretwork is excellent, it should be, it was plek"d. The finish has some issues that were disclosed. There is some finish checking on the neck to body joint and some checking by the headstock by the high E string. Also, there was some over aggressive filing of the binding in two spots. It only noticeable when you run your hand across the binding close to the low E string. That's basically it...

Nothing that would bother me. I'm going to add to the character of the finish soon enough, lol...

What is most important is that it truly sounds like a V. That same airy character that is distinct from a SG or an Explorer. It truly sounds like Michael Schenker in UFO and beyond.....

I'm happy!

Now I'm making a set list and recruiting players for my MSG tribute...

I have that same guitar and it a keeper as well. Of the several V's I have had over the last 40 years, this is the best one I have had. Plays great and like you said, has that airy woody tone.. Congrats on the killer new guitar. Love the MSG medley, especially the bits from Assault Attack.

These have a history of finish checking. A lot of used ones I've looked at have it around the binding and especially around the nut on either side of the neck around the binding. That's why I've stayed away from them. Don't know why it's so prevalent.
