You want a cardboard boner??
Any Blackstar combo with a new Celestion 70/80
speaker(s).
The Carr Vincent would go the cardboard boner in a high quality way.
The clean sound was always sttached to the overdriven sound, the gap between the two was
the cardboard boner zone,
The 5150 distortion pedal definately put the cardboard boner in my signal,-off it went, though I liked how much gain it had.
I also found the Fishman pickups to have coils of cardboard boners….l

Carr's are one of those very stereotypical dead/flat sounding boutique amps vs good vintage counterparts

LOL!!! Wow, I'm way late reading this thread. LEAVE MY BOY SAM ALONE!!! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

In all seriousness, I remember first reading that term on James Brown recollection of the making of the 5150. Ed's playthrough of the 1st prototype he said it sounded like cardboard. I still don't know what it means along with the term chewy mids. WTF do those mean????
