The peters chimera I had was maybe little bit cardboard or boxy in the mids if remember correctly.

Diezel Herbert III low mids can easily sound like they were stuffed into a USPS priority box and are trying to bust out of the box because they can't get enough oxygen so they are fighting in there for space amongst themselves.

I loved the vh2. I really would like to try big max.
Haven't played a VH2 or an Einstein. Those are on my list but the VH4 and Herbert just felt really lacking under my fingers. Absolutely hated the sizzle/fizz dogshit in the VH4 and I love rectos lol.

You're wrong and that's okay. Those amps are killer.
I kid I kid.....

I am sure they are good. But i hated the one i played. Probably just because it was a jose. Dark, fizzy and quiet
Yeah I had a Gower Rockmonster and KK++. Pretty good (great cleans on the KK++), but imho overrated. For the kind of sound it had I felt the Cameron mods I had at the time (didn’t keep them) sounded a lot better when AB’ed and the Helios I had at the time could get surprisingly close to the Rockmonster when AB’ed, just brighter than the Rockmonster. The KK++ could get tighter than the Cameron mods I had, but some of my other amps could get even a bit tighter, so couldn’t justify keeping

FWIW I saw Judas Priest recently and Andy Sneap had a better tone with his Grower Marshall’s than Ritchie Faulkner had with his Wizard MCII IMO. Ritchie’s tone was still good (drop the chorus FX on the rhythm tone already!) but Andy’s tone had more Marshall bite.

Man, I like my wizards a lot but the mids on them and VHTs can sit weird in a band mix.

We need a lot more amps added to the poll.
It's important that every one of these cardboard boxes are exposed.
Agreed, some of the biggest heavy hitters of this category are still missing: Omega, Driftwood and KSR. And EVH’s to me sound more like plastic than cardboard

Sometimes i get a feeling about a hyped company. Like i wanted a henning bottle rocket. Seemed like the perfect amp. Armored sabot also. From what i hear, glad i dodged both those

Not the amps themselves but I hear Mark Cameron has personally disposed of a few forests worth of empty pizza cardboard boxes in his lifetime. That’s got to count for something.
