Imagine living through 2008’s crysis
Everything will bounce back. Hell, people still buy Coliseums for 15k.
And prices are yet not back to good moving prices in most cases. Find me a pre covid price for a Coliseum, I’ll sell my neighbor’s both kidneys for it.
That took several years to "bounce back" from 2008 if you did not need to use your investments (e.g., retirees); the bounce back from the 1929 crash took even longer - 25 years; most people that retired would be dead before any bounce back.
it's called sequence of returns risk.
