Custom Amp Builders Delivery Times - Quick and the Dead

Just needs to be said that even though many have problems and delays with these booteek (:ROFLMAO:) builders; and I've had my share of long lead times, terrible communication, getting ghosted, etc from various manufacturers - Wizard always meets or exceeds my expectations.

Placed an order for a head on 10/27, amp arrived (shipped from Canada to TX) yesterday. That's 12 business days from order placed to amp arriving.

Would be curious to fastest builds vs longest from start to finish with whoever. Larry is obviously the longest and not really even sure how that's possible, but have my thoughts on it.

Glad to hear Rick is on it and you got your amp already!

To echo your statement in the earlier part of your post, wait times and non-responsiveness from builders/companies seem to be at an all-time high.

I have several companies that I’ve had long-standing good relationships with that I cannot for the life of me get to respond to the smallest of requests or questions even if I am waving money in their face. I understand that oftentimes builders are one-man shows or companies are strapped and overwhelmed, but at least email me back and tell me to kick rocks or whatever so I can move on.

For bigger ticket purchases it’s hard to plan finances when “in the next few weeks” turns into a year+ with minimal communication.

dang, I don't think I've even had a pedal built that fast, lol. Congrats again brother!

"know one knows how I suffer for my soup, only you understand Kramer" :cheers2:

Friends of mine know I'm done with them all. Didn't take much just the shipping amps and not having the amp tuned while you're there. It always is better hanging out while it happens.

What's the point of this thread? To call out what we already know? The quick, they are few and let the dead be at peace or not. I realize this is RT.

Keeping this limited to positive experiences only :)

Definitely Wizard - I think I got mine in '21 when there were still major supply chain issues and I still got it 4-5 weeks after order.

Another GREAT experience I had recently was with Lickliter...probably took a couple of months but he was super communicative throughout the process as various parts came in and he could progress the build.

Shout out to Headfirst as well - Jason is awesome and really great to work with.

Nice! I’d like to try a HeadFirst as well

I've only ordered a few amps, but I certainly remember Kyle building my custom Gemini quickly back when he was still new on the scene. The ONLY amp I would order new at this point would be a Wizard Hellrazor because of the builders reputation. Everything else I am buying used. I have way more experience getting amps modded.
Brent Gutierrez modded my favorite Marshall. He busted it out quickly, and it absolutely slays.
Mike Lickliter modded my Krankenstein and even tho he went through several redesigns, he was fast as fuck.
Shea did up my Vintage Modern quick too.

Splawn is pretty quick. At least reasonable. Not 12 days quick though

Usually easy to reach and converse with. Same with Avatar.

I am super impatient. No way I could wait more than 6 months for something :dunno:

Now, the Wizard GAS is just building
