Custom Amp Builders Delivery Times - Quick and the Dead

I've primarily bought second hand but had a pretty quick turnaround with Wizard and Splawn. One or two slow ones - but the communication was good...

I think it's important to distinguish between long lead times, and screwing customers. I had a guitar built and the luthier said 12-18 months. I was fine with that, and in the end it was much quicker. This is way different than someone say 3 months, and after 6 they don't bother with emails.

Good things from small businesses often take time, and as long as their communications are reasonable and timeframes transparent I'm onboard.
Ahh.. communication…-that’s an art.
This is THE JUGGERNAUT of the
“Stay small fo it all” type dudes..
It paints them into a corner right outta the canon
if they are not on it.
Nowadays??
Just get an AI answering service.
Communication= emails, emails are in stone so there’s some tight rope walking in two ton shoes if they’re not on it right outta the canon.
-that’s work within itself AT ALL TIMES, clients firing emails at you. all hours of the globe..

Me?- communication is critical,- like a Pacemaker to the company.
So be ready for me to communicate when I want to be paid, just like I communicated with you right outta the canon when you commissioned me to makeover your property.
Fire in the hole, let’s roll.. make that money!

I have three friends who ordered from GroundZero, two mods and one Hellion. All three waited a bit less than expected, as their amps were delivered a bit before the original ETA, of which wasn't long to begin with.
With the vast amount of amp companies out there nowadays, thankfully, the vast majority are fine, with some being exceptional, and very few being completely dishonest losers.

Agreed on Wizard build times being amazing. Just got a Hellrazor last month and it went from build start to complete in 2 weeks.
Rick is like an amp building machine. Not only his turnaround is incredible, but his product is perfect!

Come to think of it I still have't seen a new amp day from Techdeth. Didn't he order a Larry? Wasn't it supposed to be there in October? Or did I miss the thread? Or is he just missing his cash?

VonBon Wanton Song…
Actually, I was just thinkin’,
that’s one of my favorite Bonham hard driver’s
with that fat Bllack Beauty snare.. Pagey’ with that weird G’ Octave riff followed by the DOPEST chorus rad broken F chord cutting into emotional sounds/right on the boo-boo… the money notes,
-those get nipples hard..
or known as ‘tear jerker notes
Imagine playing that song with Bonham on a riser in a stadium!,
Not all drummers can chariot a riser and drive the
it on through..Beast Mode Ultra dudes only..
- it comes at a DIRE price somehow or somewhere..
no REM sleep.. the adrenaline is like a fire hydrant going off for hours & hours..
the posture thing also man..the contact on the groove at all times absorbs from somewhere…super taxing on the heart runnin’ hard like that up there on the riser for decades..
-the ole’ cost of doin’ business.
Cheers for YEARS for those dudes my man💯.

Anyways, dude.. all the above with the TechDeth guy and the Larry Full Metal Jacket Amp
So ‘D’ all of the above on the Scantron,
would be my best guess.
We’re rootin’’ for ya man, I grt that shit bro!
Do what ya can right?
Exercise patience.

I wanna order a Calypso amp or buy one...from the vids they sound fantastic.
I just got the One50! I was so impressed with the few clips out there on it.. thought it would be over $3k and not available. Saw it on reverb and have never hit purchase so fast.

It seems like a lot of amps out there have bad recordings, and that’s the biggest issue, however, the ones of the Calypso really impress me for whatever reason - figured I buy before a poor recording changes my mind haha

Wizard build times are legendary. I also like Monomyths model. Great amps too.

I ordered an Erso a while back. He told me 6 weeks i believe, and it arrived in 7 1/2 weeks. He would immediately respond to messages and take the time to explain things. Really good guy to deal with. He will work with you and if you said you wanted this tone, or that tone, he would accomplish it.

It’s a D style amp. Ethan is not a home tinkerer builder, went to college for electrical engineering and knows his stuff. The amps clean channel is straight up amazing, and the gain channel has killer singing sustaining lead tones. He has had access to actual dumbles and his builds sound and play great.

I mainly like heavier gain and rock, but live having such a nice clean on tap, and having Eric Johnson’y lead tones is also awesome. The touch sensitivity/ feel of the amp is great, easy to play, real fun.

Here is his version of steel string singer

Great lead tone (overdrive special circuit)

another lead tone (overdrive special)

He’s making 3 atm
I honestly hope that works out man, and you get the thing and make killer clips. Out of curiosity, what made you decide to take the leap? Don't get me wrong, I've lusted over a Larry for as long as my son has been alive, and he's heading to college next year. But in the same breath, I've heard the rumors just as long. I've seen used ones, so people must eventually get their amps? :dunno:

Recently MGL and GZ were on or before the estimated delivery and were smooth & easy to deal with.

Just think, if you had ordered one when your son was born you might have a Larry in your collection sometime soon.
