The Reissue Dual Rec is Modeled after a Rev G, NOT Rev F

$4k for a chrome rev g with no multi watt features or built in IR? I’d rather play my single channel modded Marshall goodness or my mark III.

When I listen to unboosted Rev F vs Rev G demos, I hear a very, very slight difference. The Rev F is like, 3% tighter and brighter. Also these demos are never done with the knobs at extreme settings so I always wonder if just turning up the Treble or Presence on the G would eliminate the differences further. However once the amps are boosted, the differences are even less pronounced.

Seriously, listen to these amps (MW, Rev F Triple with EL34's, Rev G Dual, Rev F Dual) and tell me with a straight face that the Dual F and Dual G are "significantly different." They're about as close as two amps can get without being identical. I swear I've heard other demos with two amps of the actual same make and model that sound more different than these amps in this video. Awesome video, btw.

People on the internet tend to exaggerate things. A lot.

The F and G are super close imho and if you're boosting the amp anyway it's not going to matter.

I’ve plugged into my early G thinking it was my F before.

Gibson may be angling for something like a Historic line (R7, R8, R9).

Total speculation from me, but perhaps they start with G and go F and C over time. Each one more expensive than the last.
I thought about this as well, maybe not that deep but like "Original" and "Modern" collections like the guitars are.

Feel and Mojo translates badly to the Web.

Nothing like watching cueball hamfist his way through these terrible riffs. I hear more of his pick chirp than I do the amp. Hopefully people fall for the hype so Rev G and Multiwatt prices fall. I'm trying to scoop something up cheap.

The red channel on the multiwatt they nailed. Everyone always only does the red channel in these shoot outs I feel like. Orange channel very different in the mid range. Multi watt is a honk fest. Rev f and before sit perfect in a mix.

You are 100% correct man and I get why you posted this. My only thing was that the Rev F is a very sought after and collectable amp and it does feel better to play than a G in my experience. But that is not relevant. It's the fact you are reissuing the G, which are plentiful and still only around 1.6-2K to acquire on CL, OU, ebay and Reverb. Still overpriced IMO but the market bears...blah blah blah.

It was said from many Mesa insiders and beyond, that this amp was supposed to be a Rev F clone. That would warrant a higher price tag but still 3.5K is a lot to ask. They are different enough from Rev G to warrant that but still.

I'm just saying, its so baffling that everywhere you look, no matter what industry or task, its ALWAYS someone who has ZERO pulse or qualifications to run the department and truly know the demand and climate of the needs or wants of said industry. They missed the mark (no pun intended unless owners of that RI say so) LOL

That demo was rough sounding. Kinda like they looked up the tabs for the riffs and were like "alright I'll give it a go, but we have to keep the first take."

It may have been impossible to do properly but for 3500 I would want a toggle that goes from C to F to G. But we all know the compromise in the latest Marks for their different voicings.
