Well that could very well be true. The whole point on being curious or intrigued by the factory Marshall mods is to see just how they stack up against all the talented builders and modders we have around. Can they even compete bro???!? My money says no but we will see.

ALSO, I do realize this is post Jim Marshall era so it may not hold as much value or interest to a lot of the old Marshall purist cranks around here. Let's just wait and see what they bring before we all take a collective giant shit on a teaser vid. Maybe the new ownership will finally get it right unlike Zounds.
 
Like we always say here on the forum, why the hell does it take companies so long to hear about what players want???

Thay could be ok .. if this amp is a representation of it. I do see a tight switch though and that's a good move given the gain. ( notice in the vid they mwntion it not being a tight mod and that could explain the switch) Maybe they will do a mod 1,2,3 sort of deal

Looks like a mid shift switch, diode clipping switch, and a "tight" switch (most likely the same as the "feel" switch you find on some modded amps, with a resistor from gain wiper to ground). Hardwired bright cap. So basically, nothing new. Just the same Jose mod that's been around for 40+ years. Just with Marshall's name on it. Big whoop. Will I get one? lol if it's a turret board build, maybe. Swap the iron for Heyboer, Marstran, or Merren and tweak a few things Marshall will most likely get wrong, and you've got yourself a keeper.

Hell, I'd even be happy with Classic Tones.

What's your take on Classic Tone BTW? I've owned and A/B'd Splawns with the Heyboer and Classic Tones and honestly didn't hear any difference.

No issues with Classic Tone other than the fact the company no longer exists.
 
A Green Day sig amp mod should name the switches functions like, the ideology switch "Punk Hair - Purple Hair - Full blown Woke", the three way financial power switch "Bay Area - Beverly Hills - Moved out of the country(but to a bigger Beverly Hills home)", the last one, the two way Citizenship switch with "Revoke - Keep" modes.
Seriously, I've been a Green Day fan since their very first album, 39/Smooth, and American Idiot is still one of my all time fave albums. But they could not manage to do anything even half ass decent after American idiot. Nothing. They are still extremely successful, but still riding their early careers tail. And when that happens and the artist starts throwing tamper tantrums to get attention is beyond pathetic.
RIP Green Day.
 
Maybe I'm just old, jaded and bitter, but this is what I'm expecting......

Same old same old Jose mod type shit with a couple wiz-bang circuit tweaks on switches, built on a shitty one sided PCB with paper thin traces, low quality PCB mounted pots, a whole bunch of those cheap, crappy little box caps and 1/4watt resistors, paired up with some junky offshore iron and a price tag of $4k.
Oh yeah, did I mention the layout will probably suck too, and be noisy as fuk LOL....
It'll sound kinda cool @ the big box retailer's amp room, but when you get it home and A/B it with anything remotely decent like a Bogner, Diezel, Friedman, or heaven forbid, anything from the multitude of great amp moders out there, you'll realize that it sounds like a lo-fi, cardboardy piece of shit like everything else Marshall has made for the last 30+ years. ( 2555x Jube re-issue is cool, but i digress.... )

Like I always say.... "I like to keep my expectations low, that way I'm never disappointed" LOL!

I don't talk about it much here, but I've also always been a big fan of them. Dookie for me was them at their best. It would be interesting a signature amp for him
