Interesting that you say that about Basswood with maple tops. I have always love the Guitar sound of Satriani/older Petrucci/Older Vai and most of those were done with Basswood guitar w/o any maple tops.

Thank you for your opinion but i will respectfully disagree. I have played guitars made of different woods with the same pickups thru my amp under hi gain with the same setting and I think it does.

I have guitars made of alder, basswood, mahogany and koa but never tried swamp ash. As i got older, i realized i gravitate toward lighter weight guitars like alder and basswood..i avoid heavier woods like koa and mahogany. When it comes to higher gain progressive metal, hows swamp ash compare...

Nice to see some love for Floyds here. -- all my floyds are blocked and have big brass blocks and esp arming adjusters. I actually have not used the bar in the past 10 years but stuck with Floyd due to the tuning stability, look and feel.
