    New Cameron 50W Prototype

So EXPCustom is SuckerFreeGear? Wasn't he roomies with Mark at one point? It looks like he renamed his Reverb and eBay storefronts to "SonicFidelityGroup". I wonder what happened there?

    New Cameron 50W Prototype

The only reason anyone would throw the dice on the risk and liability that goes with MC, is in order to put some coin in their own pockets by trading off his "brand". Why on earth with anyone with even an ounce of integrity get onboard with a guy who's ripped off other musicians, and STILL...

why do 335s feel so stiff to me compared to Lps. Teles and strats

Are you playing sitting or standing? What I've found with some of my guitars is that if the guitar hangs a bit lower on me, it changes how much leverage my left hand has. I tend to want to wear 15"+ guitars lower so the extra body size isn't creeping up to my chest. If I shorten my strap a notch...

    Best ear plugs?

These are what I use, although I haven't tried a ton of others: https://www.etymotic.com/product/etyplugs-high-fidelity-earplugs/

    NAD: Ceriatone King Kong

Any idea what the KK has for negative feedback, stock? Is it more like a 2203, or closer to JMP/NMV era? I had Nik include a NFB pot on the 2203 they built for me, and I prefer it with negative feedback in the plexi range, especially when I'm giving it some volume.

Marshall JCM 800 or an X reissue?

If you can find a late 70s or early 80s 2203 with original iron for the right price, that'd probably be my first choice. Any tech who's versed in Marshalls can check caps and other components, and make sure it's a prime example of what's so great about those amps. I went with a Ceriatone 2203...

Havent sold an amp in a while, holy shit 😂😂

There are too many people who just aren't serious buyers. They want the try-then-buy or buy-to-try options they get with retailers, while wanting the lower prices of private sales. They want to try gear out like you're a music store, instead of already knowing what they're getting, and just...

    Anyone miss old eBay?

It seems like more and more sellers are pricing their gear to recoup their original cost AND their fees. Then when you factor in sales tax and the higher cost of shipping, there just aren't the deals there used to be. People want to buy shit, use it for a while, and then flip it, and still get...

Your take on Vox vs. Cry baby wahs?

I prefer the V847 over the original crybaby (535?). I think the Vox is a bit throatier, although I'm sure there's a technical explanation for what it's emphasizing that's different. The crybaby is maybe a clearer wah. The Vox Satriani Big Bad Wah is the one I've help on to the longest. It has...

One of the best Marshall tones

Fizzy, and lacking clarity, kerrang. Single notes and chords in the lower register seem mushy. If it's stock, it seems like he's trying to get too much gain from the preamp. It'd probably be better using lower gain on the amp, and goosing the input, something that cuts the low end a bit. Single...

Let's talk about Automatic Double Tracking

I like to just record two tracks when I'm doubling. Using a different amp/cab for each track also makes a difference. Maybe I'm just not good at dialing in ADT, but I've always gotten better results by double tracking manually.

How far you willing to travel for a CL or Marketplace deal ?

Maybe 30-45 minutes. It really depends on the opportunity. The farthest I've gone was about 90 miles to sell a Line 6 Vetta II, back in 2013 or so. I was just happy to not have to ship it.

Brad Gillis with Ozzy . Brads time

SOTD was my first time hearing most of those Sabbath tunes. I decided I wanted to check out some Ozzy, and that's the cassette they had, and the album cover probably clinched it. When you grow up in a rural Midwest town, the chronology of how you're introduced to music is a little askew. Local...

What's that one amp you bought repeatedly trying to love it, but couldn't?

I've had the JVM410H a couple of times. Sounded good, but not great. There are a couple of basic mods though that I think could get me there, if I ever wanted to give it another try. I was happier with the Satriani edition. Hughes & Kettner Triamp 3. I've had that one twice, and I really...

A certain someone supposedly has a new shop in Cali and looks to be building amps again.....

Some people are chomping at the bit to financially support a guy who ripped off their fellow musicians. They don't have a problem with scammers, as long as it's someone else on the losing end.

If a Genie gave you $1,000,000 bucks to buy gear what would it be ?

13,000 pod XTs Seriously though, I'd love a 50s LP or a V, but I'm not sure I'd pay crazy money for one. I still might get a vintage guitar or then, just not the holy grails. I'd just find a top notch builder for modern recreations of the burst and '58 V. For amps, I'd track down a best of...

New MXR Randy Rhoads pedal... GONE

Same. Randy was probably my biggest influence when I started playing. I listened to everything I could, read everything I could. I've never seen anything suggesting his D+ was modified, let alone an account by anyone of authority. It's not that there isn't detailed info about his gear by people...

    Iron Maiden: Powerslave - 1984

Live after Death was the first album of theirs I bought, and 75% of that was probably due to the artwork. Probably 1986 or so. Then I worked backwards from there. Powerslave is great, but probably not even in my top 3 of the Bruca-era albums. My favorite album of theirs is probably Killers as...

Have you guys seen Boss' new line of pedals? I HAVE to try these.

Stacking Smussssh-smortion > Brown Town is probably a no brainer. Very efficient ;-)
