and just to make sure i wasn't "hearing things".. LOL.. i used the boss tuner app on my phone to check the note.. and without pitch its a G, with a pitch at 2 octaves up, its only F#.
The hunt continues
Interesting! I realized I had a Reverb block in there that was eating up about 20% of the CPU and not being used. I deleted that, and I'll test it out.
So I am using my FX8 as a whammy to pitch 2 octaves up. I've got everything setup correctly in the scene settings and the expression pedal is calibrated to go from 0 to 100 from toe up to toe down. However, I noticed that my 2-octaves up does not go that high.
So for example, if I play a part...
Letting you guys know I ordered a matched pair of the PSvane EL34C that Scott Splawn recommended and said he's using in all the amps he makes now.
Very curious about them.
Greetings fellow canuck .. Where in Canadiana are you?
Regarding the Loop issue, is anything plugged into the issue? do you experience this issue with nothing plugged into the loop? how about changing the signal setting from +4/-10db?
Cheers
I've had Schallers for 20+ years and never had an issue with them. I got the D'addario ones a couple of years back to try cause they were lower profile and I disliked them. They kept going loose and didn't feel as stable as the Schaller ones.
Good luck
The buffered split may help remove any possible ground loop in this case. Bob Bradshaw is a genius when it comes to guitar gear. So I can see him designing something like the CAE Buffer and 1 of the outputs being completely isolated, eliminating ground loops split into 2 devices.
It could also...
I do have humbuster cables as well. When I disconnect the FX8 from the amp's loop, the ground loop disappears.
I could be wrong, but I think the Zuul doesn't complete the loop because of the key input feature. What buffer are you using with the Fortinet Zuul key input? Is the split output on...
I had a similar issue with running my Fractal FX8 in 4CM with my amp. it introduced ground hum. after experimenting with TONS of options, the only item that took the ground loop away was an older ebtech Hum Eliminator.. and it kept the tone intact...
Get a good quality built cab. The construction and wood make all the difference.
Do it once and do it right. You'll waste less $$ and time buying and selling cabs.
As PDC mentioned, Splawn sells unloaded cabs. I've got their 412 and a 212. Their 412 went on the road with me back from 2006...
