@GJgo yes, he only mods the Red Channel and the clean channel is effected by the mod.
@GJgo when the hell is Mesa going to start sending you these new amps to demo?
You think with all the content you've put out there, they'd send the new Dual Rec your way.
@braintheory I have a G/C Triple that Mike did for me a while back.
If I recall correctly, he said Rev C & D had a different PCB layout.
Because of this, it not possible to modify the Orange Channel of E/F/G to Rev C specs.
I've gotten to know a couple Mesa employees on a personal level. They're great people who truly care about their customers.
Employees like the above don't pop up out of nowhere. It takes the right company culture to develop/retain that kind of talent.
As for what happened to Fluff, that...
Kind of questionable how Gibson is treating the brand right now. The way they abruptly "fired" Randy could've been handled better.
They also severed ties with Fluff over his reporting of what happened to Randy, which he removed after the post was active for ~30 minutes.
So you sack the...
@braintheory well said. Both amps cost ~ the same. For that kind of money, I'd gladly take the handwired/point-to-point MezzaBarbara over the IIC+ reissue. The IIC+ reissue will be a mass produced amp. Odds are there are people who will grab them expecting the world only to be let down that...
@NineShallDie you're ? right about needing to search religiously on all platforms to find a reasonable used IIC or IIC+.
They're definitely out there. My last IIC HG ran me ~$2.5k Shipped/PayPal'd. I sent it to Mike and it came back IIC+/++ ?.
All I can say is use a protected payment system...
@SonVolt the IIC+ is really a 1.5 channel amp. Being able to toggle from a stellar clean to awesome lead isn't really possible unless you have the Petrucci Volume Mod. I know Mike B isn't entertaining that anymore due to the originality/collectibility of these amps and it isn't his favorite...
The III+ is pretty much a copy of the IIC+ circuit. Yes there are some differences between them, especially the layout.
FWIW, wait to hear the reviews pour in from credible folks and get some play time with the reissue before plopping down $4k after taxes.
As someone who has owned...
@fedrek the III+ mod makes what Stripe it is a moot point. The III’s were all similar to each other with minor tweaks, except for the No Stripes.
They can all be made to sound alike or can be modded to a III+ with the exception of the No Stripe not having the same PCB. It can still be made...
@Monkey Man apologies, link removed. I relisted it in a text format for anyone interested.
Hope a forum member lands this for a ridiculous price and enjoys the hell out of it. :m17:??
$1,250 Mesa Boogie Rev G Dual Rectifier
No need to shell out big bucks for a reissue when you can buy the real thing well below market prices.

Gibson Garage said the reissue can run them in the outter pair. Apparently they called Doug West to confirm it.
Reason it isn’t published has to do with current el34’s not being able to handle its plate voltages, hence the recommendation to only use NOS.
@mesaboogieE34L you can use EL34's in the outside sockets with the new reissue, just like the originals.
Mesa is recommending all 6L6's or a mix with NOS EL34's, due to the voltage handling ability of modern EL34's.
