I had one; super convenient for adding an fx loop to a vintage amp, using it as a WDW power amp, and of course as an attenuator.
But, at the time I already had a WDW rig and a Pulse attenuator that sounds pretty good. So I returned it since I didn’t need any of the 3 in one functionality it offers. If I still played out I’d have kept it though.

Yep super convenient, but I found loading down amps with a SRL and slaving out to the power amp of my choice got better results. Really a jack of all trades unit that will please most.
 
Love my ps2, great all in one unit. Also had great luck with Suhr rl into a power amp. Word is that there was a suhr reactive load and power amp in the works that would compete with the power station, but haven’t heard anything else about it.
 
I don't have the Fryette, but I do use a Suhr Reactive Load -> post effects -> poweramp and I don't think I'll ever go back. It's just so much better in literally every possible way for any situation that’s not “playing a sold out stadium with full license to turn up as loud as possible.”

I haven't read up on the PS100 so I did not know that there were two channels with two different adjustable volume levels and you can footswitch between the two for say rhthym and lead........now that's a 100% usable feature.... KUDOS to Mr. Fryette.:2thumbsup:
 
I had the PS2 and wasn't in love with it. Using the loop produced a bad high-pitched squeal. I had all the other big name attentuators and they were about as good. I grabbed a Marshall Power Brake on OfferUp for $75 and it really has been my favorite and best bang for the buck. I am selling my SPL Reducer, as the Power Brake handles 100w heads better.

I totally get this - i didnt have a wdw rig before, the fryette was actually the impetus for it.

If I already had some sort of loadbox and a poweramp and attenuator, it wouldnt have been such a no brainer move.

I think because of that versatility though, its a great option for someone who wants ANY of those three capabilities - you might need one of its other capabilities later on. Plus it sounds very, very good.
 
I already had a SRL and power amps but I really wanted the simplicity of one unit. Plus my power amps had fans that were noisy but that was fixable. I actually still have a Rivera Mini Rockrec and the power amps but they almost never get used.

Hasn't happened yet but I fear one day I'll flip the switches in the wrong order...standing right in front of the cab with a 100W Super lead on 10. Ouch.

Yep. I have had a short change moment or two using mine. Most recently with a JCM800 2203 with the master on 5. Forgot to take the PS2 off of standby and smacked and open E on the LP. Thought my heart stopped for a second.

I use a power strip as a master on/off for my amp+attenuator+pedalboard, then leave all of them set to on and only use the power strip to turn things on/off.

Prevents that exact scenario and also enabled my laziness.
