A kid that good should have killer equipment regardless of age. He is obviously extremely gifted and committed. I'm sure he started out with shit like the rest of us.

Totally, I just wonder if he even goes outside, gets dirty and gets to be a kid or is his parents grooming him to be a prodigy?

Yeah, right? Has he ever thrown a baseball? Egged a house? Ridden a bike?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say his dad is "probably" in to guitar and Petrucci as well.

IE has a shrine to Petrucci in the closet and prays to him twice a day.

Cool thing about kids... they are little sponges and just soak everything up around them.

Regardless of tons of kids playing like this now, it is great to see the ones that do it well. It also just further highlights how great of a player and composer Petrucci is. For me, the props always go to the guy who wrote it, not the one who can play or play it better.

Hopefully he will take what he has learned and build upon it in original compositions. By the time hes 20 he should be teaching Petrucci.
