So, I decided to restore my old '82 Kramer Pacer to an old school "beak" maple neck. I had a "hockey stick" headstock on it that was from Warmoth because the original neck was trashed. I also decided to snazz it up a bit with a candy stripe paint job instead of the purple (guitar was originally white). Paint job was inspired by a really cool Charvel strathead I saw recently... I got a new neck built - it was poorly shaped, but Marty Bell (website) did a great job finishing shaping of the neck and applied a satin finish as well as refinishing the headstock with the candy stripe and a period correct Kramer Pacer script decal I provided.
Here is what the guitar looked like originally, except for an added Floyd (replacing the POS Rockinger trem), a changed pickup, and a removed tone knob
Then after some mods, here is what the guitar looked like (far right purple guitar) before this project started:
Here is what it looks like now:
Pretty cool, huh? This is my "Classic VH" guitar. Tuned a half step down and just has "the sound" with the right amp. That is one of Vic at Mojave Ampwork's low output bridge humbuckers, which sound great...
