2016 MTL for $4k on Reverb

Weird, the guy didn't list the power tube type. Seems like a big detail to leave out when you can get these things with just about any power section you want.

edit:
Whoa look what else is available right now. Damn.
Modern Classic 2 MkII 150w with KT88's. Treble Shift, Black Cat mod, Depth control, and blue LED's.
A bit more pricey than the one in the OP at $4,900, but still, that's one loaded up bad motherfucker.

There’s always a bunch of wizards on reverb, yet somehow I never see any for sale locally to me I can at least go try out
Yeah same. I’d figure as many big artists live in Vegas there’d be a Wizard or two floating around, but not so much.

I really need to visit someone that owns a Wizard. Many folks I know swear by them but I just cannot seem to make myself risk the cost of admission.

At $4k+ used I definitely need to try before I buy.
I spent some actual time doing a video on my modern classic, since I got a new camera (not an iphone lol), uploading now… I’ve been meaning to do more gear videos and stuff but life has been real busy lately.

I’m also going to do some quad cortex captures on it here in a bit. I can send them to you… once I figure that part out lol.

I think I got it nailed what the amp actually sounds like… at least the way I like to set mine up. I know not everyone digs metal and high gain… but that’s what I play.

I’m going to see if the captures hold up… I always hear people say wizards aren’t recordable or capture able… I think it’s a load of bs. But I guess I’ll find out on the quad cortex side here in a bit.

The one in the OP is in Henderson.
Looks like it sold though...
FFS! Lol.

Of course it was…

yeah man I’d love to check out those captures when you get them done.

I also don't agree that Wizards aren't recordable. I love the tones I get with mine, and you get killer tones with yours.

I will say though, I'll concede that Wizards can be complicated to dial in. IMHO while I think they can sound better than anything out there (for what I like at least), the controls give you so much sweep that you can absolutely make them sound bad.

I like my MC2 so much that I recently picked up a Hell Razor as well (I know, I know, yet another Wizard picked up by a Rig Talk guy, shut up lol) and I have to say it took me like a full day or so of tweaking to finally figure the thing out and not regret my decision, but after banging my head against it long enough and trying some unorthodox settings, now I think it might actually be my favorite amp of all time, no caveats, no exceptions.

The MC2 isn't going anywhere, btw. The amps are just different enough to keep both. They're both lifetime amps. BUT, they definitely need to be learned to get the best out of them.
