Hey guys. For those of you not familiar with me I am Joe Bodenhamer owner/operator of http://www.bodenhamer-electronics.com
The Story: My wife was diagnosed with cancer last December and this has been the most stressful year of our lives both emotionally and financially. October was the worst financially as she was getting radiation treatment every day for the whole month. Radiation is ridiculously expensive and it was also a 130 mile, every day round trip which is a ton of money considering the price of gas!
To help us get caught up and hopefully ready for Christmas I'm raffling off one of my hand-built "Bloody Murder" overdrive pedals that I usually sell for $120. Don't let the low price tag fool you, this pedal hangs with the most expensive of them! I keep my prices low in an effort to grow business. I don't do this for a living I do it for fun and a little spending money so I don't try to make a ton off them.
Here's the low down on the pedal:
It's a ts808 clone in a Hammond 125b enclosure, true bypass, Switchcraft jacks, hand built, byoc board (for 3 reasons: great quality, low price, great service), all 1% tolerance metal film resistors, TI RC4558P chip (socketed for easy swapping), only Panasonic, Nichicon, and Philips caps (best IMO). SEVERAL mods over the stock 808! Less mid hump, more lows, more potential highs (but they are SMOOOTH), more clarity, more gain with the knob up over half, less gain when the knob is at zero (good for clean boost), more output (also good for clean boost), assymetrical clipping with several hours/days of experimenting to come up with what I believe is the best diode configuration possible! This really makes the pedal sound 3D, dynamic, and harmonically rich! These pedals are also much quieter than the stock 808. The paint job is black lacquer with red lettering and hand buffed lacquer clearcoat.
A raffle entry is $5 paypal to lordovchaos@gmail.com or money order to:
Joe Bodenhamer
416 N Washington Ave
Warrensburg, MO 64093
if using paypal make the subject line "raffle" and be sure to include shipping information and your site username so I know how to contact you.
I will draw the winner on December first and honest Abe here assures that it will be a fair, random drawing. Every $5 gets your name in the box and more chances to win.
I'm going to do this here, HC, The Gear Page, and sevenstring.org. Somebody's going to get a $120 pedal really cheap!
If I get 40 or more entries there will be two pedals up for grabs and another for every 20 entries beyond that.
Thanks for your help!
Joe
