Anyone out there running this set up and if so - please submit your happy, satisfied, if-I-could-change-one-thing scorecard to yours truly.

Playing with the notion of some studio upgrades... The Herbert's a done deal - but hey, a 50W into a 2x12 might be a good addition to round it out.

PEACE!!

  HAHAHAHAHA...

Well, now that we got the "get to know you" parts over with, tell me about the set up. I've heard a lot of your takes on this forum and they're amazingly tight and well produced (pat yerseff on the back there!!). I take it - the short answer to this is "no complaints".

Hmmmmmmmmmm, damn - so what, I'm in for a new Herbert AND an Einstein now??

Best be working HARD for these funds!

I'd get a VH4 instead, but that's just me. Einstein's thing is the texas mode & its lead tone, unless that's what you are after, I'd pass.

Here is a great demo, I couldn't have done it better. He covers pretty much everything that the Einstein is best for.

My setup varies.

Einstein->Bogner OS 2x12 with EVM12L classic & v30 more often than not. v30's gonna go soon, it just sounds all wrong to my ear these days. Wanna try a Scumback H75 instead.

Hey!

I recently switched from a Bogner 412 to a Bogner 212 XL. I haven't missed the 412 (and the WEIGHT) for a second. Never tried the Diezel 212 yet, but I hear they are great. Oh, I play V30 speakers and I LOVE them.

Rock on!

I have an Einstein combo 50 watt and a Diezel studio 2x12 with Celestion G12-H's in it.
The tones are terrific and powerful.
Not one complaint here.
I also just received a Diezel 2x12 with Tone Tubby Hempcone ceramics, but have not played it through my Einstein as of this post.
However, I expect it to sound just as awesome or more so then the Celestion-loaded 2x12.
Here is the Diezel studio 2x12:

I have a 100 watt Einstein with (2) Diezel 2x12 cabs. It sounds fantastic even through one of them. Plenty of bottom too, although if you are really going to push it there are limitations of only having 2 12" drivers instead of 4. I could easily play any gig with just one of the 2-12 cabs and my einstein. For what it's worth, I love the Einstein because it's so versitile. I do have the mode mod on mine so I get 4 tones, but it has nicest mids (best tube combo pair of winged C's and pair of JJ KT77's) crushing low end yet tight with all the sweet mids and top the EL34's are known for. If your into rock this is a great cab. Might be a little too loose for metal though, but I can play Metalica, Dream Theater stuff with just a slight adjustment to the mids with an EQ I have in the fx loop. I think this cab sounds about the same as my Bogner 2x12. Makes sense since I think they are based on the same sizes and may have even been made by the same company.

Thanks Folks!

Thus far, the Einstein is looking like the right tool for the job... Considering my hi-gain repertoire of amps, I think some toneful love from an Einy is the best choice. I'll let you know if and when I take the plunge, and what cab I plan on running it through (I'm digging the idea of an OS Diezel 2x12, but do they make them, that is the question). Speakers for this amp strike me as being something a little more gritty - the G12H30's may be a good call, or indeed the Hemps. We'll see... I'll throw down some clips when I'm done bashing 'er in

Peace,
V.

Most certainly let me know how it sounds going through the Tone Tubby 2x12 - are those rated at 50W per speaker? I'm guessing if I do pick up a new cab, and again, as a departure from the hi-gain monsters currently in my repertoire, I'll be looking at a RL 2x12 with this TTHC's. So let me know how it sounds - I'm stoked to know :salute:

Will do.
I am not sure if Peter makes a 2x12 that is over-sized as the Bogner cab is, but they have done their homework on what makes a good cab and how to best get it to sound great, so I just go with it, personally.

The Einstein should help you do some metal. That amp is not just for other types of music, although there are tones that you may possibly prefer from some of your other amps for that style. Just don't discount the Einstein for certain styles...it may surprise you.

I know about the Einy being able to rip some serious metal tones - as in the sampler "These Lips" off the Diezel site - but as mentioned, I'm entrenched with hi-gain monsters, an Uberschall TJ and a VH4S. I'm golden in that department. The vintage feel and some dirt and clean through an organic cab is where I'm leaning when it comes to some bluesy gritty jammin' noodlin'... Not to mention, there's something pretty trick about the Einstein - I think it'll be a nice addition.

I'm also now looking into Mills cabs to set things up... But would love to hear about the TT's in the 2x12.

Namaste,
V.

I have one of the Diezel 2x12s and I changed out the stock diezel speakers for some Eminence Lynch super v112 speakers and it's just amazing! Tons of clarity and bottom end.

Taking note of ALL these posts... Thanks! I'm checking out a Mills, Diezel, Bogner, etc. thus far. Having had a Bogner 2x12 OS before, it was good - but I'm pretty interested in the Mills too.

V.

PS - keep it comin' cats

If you're trying to get something Vintagey, the Einstein is not your best bet. It may be "vintage" for the Diezel line, but it's still very modern.

If I were in your position, I would get something a little more dedicatedly vintage. Something along the lines of a Marshall JTM45, Plexi or a derivative.

Point VERY well taken, and most certainly I agree - but I am, in fact, seeking the Diezel spin on an ol' thang (that being Peter's tweek on a vintage/crunchy/dirty/vox'y style). Einstein has a lot of terrain to cover, I haven't played one, unlike the Herbert which I loved, but from the soundclips and vidclips and feedback I've seen and heard, it's the next addition for me and my LP's and ESP's :salute:

Sigh.... GAS. Ya gotta love it, and ya gotsta hate it. But at the end of the day, it's all about music - and THAT ain't something I take lightly :gethim:

Hey Reussen, so you're playing the Einy through a 2x12 OS cab loaded with V30's and you're diggin it eh?? Have you ever tried other speakers?? As I already have some V30's in the mix in my soundroom, as well as G12T75's and G12K100's, I'm thinking going a different route might be fun - greenbacks, hemps, tonetubby's, G12H30's (limits with that though), etc.

Lemme know,
V.

Then by all means, the Einstein is a great amp.

I have the same power tube set-up as RG9 (JJ KT-77 & winged C=EL-34) I have tried several tube configurations and like this set-up for the same reasons RG mentioned. I have Diezel 412 with V30/hempcones X pattern and a Mesa vertical 212 with a g12h30 and a hempcone. It is the same width as the Einstein and makes a great looking slightly undersized half-stack and sounds great with the Einstein. I am wanting a new Diezel 212 as my 412 is the old salt & pepper and a 212 is enough to cover most of the venues we play. We play mostly 80s Rock & some newer stuff-G&R, Bon Jovi,Poison, 3 doors down, Buck Cherry,Theory of a Deadman ETC. I think a Diezel 212 is a great match for the Einstein and would love to see Diezel come out with a vertical 212 to match up with the Einstein.

I play mine einstein 100 through a port city 2x12OS with ceramic hempcones. It absolutely slays!
