I play mine einstein 100 through a port city 2x12OS with ceramic hempcones. It absolutely slays!

Are these ceramic hempcomes the Tone Tubby's? And as to the post above yours regarding tubes - am I reading correctly that there are 2 types of power tubes used in the configuration of the Einstein?? 2xJJ's and 2xEL's = 4 power valves?? Just seeking some clarification.

I've been chatting with Dave at Mills Acoustics about a Mach 212B cab - they seem to have a great reputation in this department. I'm not into the Bogner OS cab...had one, it was awesome, but I'm looking for a better build (more heavy duty), less "ornate", and just straight up - balls to the wall - power and grunt.

Thanks for all the feedback cats...I'm taking all this info seriously.

Peace,
V.

Yes Ventura, 2 JJ KT77 in the inners, 2 winged C=EL-34 in the outers. I have the KTs bias at around 90ma the winged Cs around low 70s.

Thanks - and I am also to assume that they're always engaged when the standby goes to run, correct? As in, they're not phased to play 2x for one channel, 2x for a different channel - they're just all 4 on at all times to get the unique voicing on an Einy(?).

Peace - gotta get my facts straight as hell, this is a PURCHASE people!!!!!

Correct all 4 tubes run togather. Diezels web sites tech corner gives the recommended bias for different tube type. I bought my Einstein used and it did not have the stock tubes in it so I experimented and this is the combination I liked best. I love the winged C=EL-34s and the KT-77s makes for a more aggressive sound. A previous poster in this thread RG9 also mentioned he used this same tube configuration and may be able to give some input.

Yup ceramic tone tubby's I bought myself. In my Einstein I use 2 El34BHT and two SED 6550 Winged C. Peter has recommended both so I figured mix em.

Alright - this is sounding more and more like a "done deal". Just going to play off the notion of a Mills or Diezel 2x12, and whether or not I need the 50W or 100W Einy for my applications. More horsepower is always my M.O., but sometimes the ability to overdrive a 50W is more readily doable than a 100W power section.

THANK YOU MUCHLY for all this awesome feedback.

Nivek, are you really tunning your JJ KT77's at 90 Ma? That sounds really high to me but I'm asking because I've had problems with them red plating and I thought it was because of too high bias...can you please clarify?

Yes I am running the KT-77 just under 90ma I think I had them set around 87 or 88ma working great for me , from what I have read KT-77 need bias a little hotter than EL-34S. It seems to add a little extra aggression to the sound. I am no expert but I know what sounds good to me and this combination

Greetings fellow mates!
Just recently i got my first Diezel amp, an Einstein 50W and i'm in search for a 1x12 or 2x12 cab just so i can use it at my place as well.

Has anyone tried a Cornford cab with an Einstein? I would appreciate your feedback on this!

PS.Ventura i hope i'm not hijacking your thread. :)

Naw Dawg, I don't take valid questions as being a hijack... In fact, I could gush about gear all day long... I find it all super interesting. Keep the peace - maybe check on the Cornford forum for chats about what you're looking for. Thus far, from here anyway, I'm in for a Mills Mach 212B or a Diezel 2x12 OS loaded with TTHC's.

I think I've got it covered. Now it's your turn

Peace,
V.

Hey Reussen, so you're playing the Einy through a 2x12 OS cab loaded with V30's and you're diggin it eh?? Have you ever tried other speakers?? As I already have some V30's in the mix in my soundroom, as well as G12T75's and G12K100's, I'm thinking going a different route might be fun - greenbacks, hemps, tonetubby's, G12H30's (limits with that though), etc.

Lemme know,
V.

Hey V!

Sorry to chime in so late. Yeah, I really dig the V30's. A friend of mine has the same cab, just with greenbacks in it. We hooked up both cabs to the Einy and it made a sweet combination. Of course, having 2 212's hooked up sounds MASSIVE anyway... next, we're going to try swapping a V30 and a Greenback. We'll see what happens and I'll let you know... I think it may be extremely cool!

Thanks for everyone's feedback and PM's cats - you are all extremely righteous and cool in yer own special ways... This is a very cool forum - good job Brad *wink* as there's less BS here and more true musicianship than any other forum out there that I know of...

Anyway, it's come down to these 2 options for me, and your opinions are welcome...

50W Einstein with either a Mills Mach 212B or Diezel 2x12 loaded with Celestion Gold Alnico's

or,

100W Einstein with either a Mills Mach 212B or Diezel 2x12 loaded with ToneTubby Ceramic Hemps.

That's where it's at - now it's just a matter of chin scratching and making the decision...

Peace Y'All...
V.
