65-18 watt switch on Renegade

Viking, Thanks for the tip. I may try that.

Last night's gig went well. I had been using a VHT 12/20 with 6V6 tubes and a 4x12 cab and it was not cutting it. The drummer plays loud. Great drummer, but beats those things.

The Renegade easily handled it. Getting used to all those knobs and switches is a process, but once I had it set, I just jammed out.

I have a new Fender Cabroniita Thinline Tele and the only issue is that it fed back some. This is not a true hollowbody, it has a wood block in the middle, so the F holes are more for sure and makes the guitar lightener, but with Fidelitron Humbuckers I am not sure if they shield them well or put foam underneath. It may be time to get TV Jones Powertrons with sheilding. Now I need to tame the Thinline beast.... Doh!

Hi Keith J.
I see on your blog you changed the fan on your amp.
I measured mine and I see that's its 80mm in size, did you use a bigger fan?

has anyone tried to peel back the grill coth and cut a vent hole in the front panel to make the amp breath better?

80mm is a standard PC fan and 80mm is as big as you can go, 120mm is too big. I did think about cutting a hole in the front but I don't need any more cooling and the logo has been hot glued on and could be hard to remove....I have put some small rubber washers on the front grill to make a small gap between the chassis and grill that you can feel air being pulled through. I also think you can have too much cooling....I think tubes need to be warm to work at their best....but I could be talking bollocks....k.j.
