Im thinking about dumping my G-Major 2 and going back to pedals. I like the options with the GM2
but that low end "thump" disappears when ever i use it. Sometimes it subtle and sometimes not.
I get use to it after a while but when i click off the effects loop on the amp Bam! That low end
thump is back. id like to keep that. would a Suhr mini mix help? I dont remember my pedals taking
away that. Any 6505 + users out there

you need to set the GM-2 internally from "pro" to "user" i believe.

the 5150 uses a high output impedance and the g-majorII is designed to accept a low input impedance - ala studio grade applications and properly designed effects loops. you will get a considerable volume and tone difference with these dB levels mismatched.

set the GM-II internally and you should see a big difference.

yeah..In the Global bank the input is either "Pro" or Consumer.
Ive got it on Consumer. The default is Pro so maybe I'll try that

No luck. i was on the right one, "Consumer" in the Global input. 6505 users,
what do you have for delay pedals?

to be completely honest i had the same problem with my g major and also running an ISP decimator pro-rack G with the stereo modification.

hell if you want to read the ISP review in the rack section reviews on the forum it specifically says the same thing.

sampling rates these days are getting better, but anytime you have AD/DA conversion you're going to get tonesuck. sad, but true. that ISP/G major setup was 2 years ago. ive done without effects for 2 years. ive since gone back to using pedals and to get rid of the tone-suck, a midi rack relay loop controller setup along with a few rack effects.

i then send the signal to a mixer, and mix the dry/wet ratio to my liking, pipe it back into the amplifier. i plan to, in the future, grab a power amplifier and do a stereo w/d/w/d setup like this. but for now im still grabbing the effects.

i have found i like pedals better. i do own and use a 5150 II, owned a 5150 for a while at the same time too.

Copy that. I was planning to get a gcx set up and put it in the loop there
but that wont solve how it sounds when its on. I've read the Flashback stays
analog the whole way through and the repeats are the only thing digital. Maybe
a couple of those will work better in a loop set up. or Boss dd-3's

yeah you're right, it does not solve how it sounds when its on. hence why i'm doing mixing. i really dont even like alot of effects anyway except for cleans or for song inspirations.

all i can say is been there done that, if i assume you're noticing the same thing i did when using anything digital in the effects loop of a 5150. didnt matter the settings, it never sounded as good as it did with just the amplifier itself.

Tried the T.C Flashback today. AWESOME!! totally transparent. its the one :)

Interesting problem. While I don't personally lack low end thump thru the gmajor2, I admire your 'less is more' approach. If you're going for delay, I bet that pedal is dopeness.

If you do have a gmajor2 and Peavy6506+, check out this little rascal:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AH7VTEW

it allows you to switch 6505+ amp channels with the gmajor2, and leaves the effects loop always on.
lemme know what you think-
