70s Mighty Mite 1300 Distortion Pickup

The Dimazrio Super II specs are similar to the 1400 mighty mite.

only the magnet and resistance, the super II is a much hotter pu and has a different EQ than a 1400.
I have a super II and it does not sound like the 1400 unfortunately

yeah it is 9.1K to be exact and is mighty mite's PAF and since ed loved PAF's so much i don't know why he would use their distortion model after saying he did not like dimarzio super distortions which we both know is the same basic pu?

Edward said he didn't like Dimarzio Super Distortion but he used them.He had one in the white Gibson Les Paul Custom for the 78 tour,the circles strat and the black and yellow strat.

Well... Ed certainly said a lot of things that didn't turn out to be true. He definitely used Super Ds at times...

I had to register an account to ask you, what pickup have you got in the neck position? I recently picked up a Jap strat copy in Osaka and its got the same MM 1300 in the bridge. I want to do basically exactly what you've done with yours and wondered what single coil you found best to pair with the 1300?

I just picked up a couple of 70s Mighty Mite 1300 Distortion pickups. After some USPS issues, they got here today.

Had a chance to install one in my strat relic in place of the Super Distortion I had in the bridge and I'm liking it a lot. This one measured 13.49K. Similar to a Super Distortion for sure, but better to me - a bit more output and more sparkle on the top end. Very Nice! Here it is in the guitar:

Sounding really good through my W/D/W rig with the new 50 watt Bottle Rocket Prototype!

Liam - I put a Duncan SSL-6 in my guitar (as recommended by my pal, Chubtone!) Great pickup and a real match for the 1300.

I have a couple of 1300's sitting around, I found them lacking note definition, tried them in my Ibanez Destroyer and a Suhr guitar, I prefer the 1400 or even the 1800, but it's all about what works best in your guitars, amp and hands, the Dimarzio Super Distortions don't work well for me either

It really is a great guitar. I had to go test a 4x12 today before it shipped and I brought this guitar and the Bottle Rocket and it sounded killer...

Agreed, whatever works! I definitely dig the 1300 in this particular guitar, but I like the Super D in almost every guitar I've tried 'em in...

Yeah, Whatever works. I HATE the Super D, yet I have one nitro Charvel that came with one and it sounded killer. Of course its the guitar because almost every pickup I've had in it I've liked. lol

Imam par 1300 uokolo, otkrio sam da im nedostaje notna definicija, isprobao sam ih na svom Ibanez Destroyeru i Suhr gitari, više volim 1400 ili čak 1800, ali sve je u tome što najbolje radi na tvojim gitarama, pojačalu i rukama , ni meni Dimarzio Super Distortions ne rade dobro:Ne:
