A Band Named "Tool"

Aenima is my fav for album guitar tone. It's raw and organic due to a lot of flange/chorus. Lateralus and 10K Days are more modern and heavy and dark, what with the Bogner and Rivera and more emphasis on the Diezel instead of the Rectifier/Marshall combo. But my favorite tone from Tool ever is just the live stuff from the early '90s with JUST the Marshall. The tone in the JC Dobbs live show on YouTube is my fav.

Man, I really love the Rectifier+Marshall years for his tone. But yeah the Marshall only was really sick too.

Who here was born after Tool released their last album?

"This post is reserved for any 2020 album updates!"

Not Funny!

I give up on getting excited for the new album. I don't believe it is happening until I am slapping a vinyl record of it onto my turntable. Haha

Is this a joke?
He can say what he wants to, even if he's not serious...
He can say what he wants to, even if... he's just kidding...

I didn’t say he couldn’t say what he wants to. Tool is a well known band, so I couldn’t believe someone was asking the question.
This is officially the second joke that went over your head in this thread.
  :hys:

See ya down in Arizona Bay

Listening to Tool is like watching a porno with a plot. You waste way too much time waiting for a few minutes of good stuff

There have been bands that have started up, got famous, put out a couple of albums & broke up since the last Tool album. The average age of a Tool fan has to be north of 40 at this point. Even I was young when the album 10,000,000 days came out over 5,000 days ago!

Tool is my favourite band if I had to just pick one - which is impossible. But they're up there.

I heard or read a great quote a while ago... "you'll always know a Tool fan when you meet one".

Fact.

It seems that lately they have a lot of nothing to say.

Why then am I surprised that I’ll hear my own eulogy before their next album is released?

I dig me some Tool. Eulogy and The Pot are probably my favorites, but I like probably about 60-75% of their material. I was supposed to see a 10,000 Days tour date with a friend, but he lost the tix. I still remind him about that (and always will). Heard that I missed a kickass show.

I dunno... Maynard was quite chatty on Joe Rogan's podcast not too long ago.
