Acceptable blemish?

Just wanted to get opinions on a b-stock item I purchased from EMG. I have purchased multiple b-stock pickups from EMG over the years and have been very happy with every purchase. All of the b-stock pickups I purchased had blems that were hardly noticeable. This last one I got the other day, not happy with. the blems on this one is very noticeable and should not have been sold in my opinion. EMG said I could return it but pay a 15% restocking fee, which I'm not going to do, not worth it. Am I being too critical with this one?

It looks like a slug crawled all over it. If it sounds good and you really don't care that much, I'd just keep it though.

You know you're taking a risk buying B-stock items. There isn't anything functionally wrong with it I assume, so I'd let it go and just chalk it up as a slight loss.

Kinda looks like wax/ epoxy from here. Not sure if they pot emg’s but I’d try to scrub it off with alcohol or something stronger.

EMG stated that their blemished items would be barely noticeable once installed but to me, this one is very noticeable. I was expecting a small scratch or faded logo, etc. like the other ones I bought. Just kinda pissed EMG wont let me return it without charging a 15% restocking fee. It's one pickup, c'mon.

It's actually the coating of the pickup. it looks like it didn't take when it was sprayed or baked on.

Restocking fee for a B stock item does sound a little ridiculous.

A restocking fee for a tiny item like that is ridiculous . Pickups are not something I care much about how they look , if it sounds like it should that's good enough for me but if you know it will continually bother you send it back .

Yeah, you guys are right. It was a b-stock item so I'll live with it since it functions like it should and didn't cost too much. Appreciate the input.

I'd be more concerned about the cracks from knocks, but I reckon performance will be unaffected.

AFAIK the are potted in epoxy, so the cover can’t be replaced
