It is something I think about a lot. I probably think of it even more since joining here and rolling around in the OTC mud with you guys. I've never really thought of it as a political topic. Sure there have always been overly conservative and overly liberal people, but I've always felt that their motives for being the person that they are were driven by their own volition and not to appease a political ideology.

I read (here) about how our future is doomed. Kids are soft, they don't know what gender they are, they don't want to work, etc etc all kinds of dumb shit like that, and while I respect people's right to their own opinions, I also think it's a shame that they are trying so hard to shape these kid's lives to better mirror their own. It is not the same world that most of you grew up in. These kids grew up on the internet. Their internet presence probably started with their birth photo on facebook. They are very exposed and therefore feel the need to be more "true to themselves" than any other generation.

Shit talking on the internet certainly transcends generations, but the anonymous shit posting, like on here, seems to be more prominent as people get older. It's easier for older people to stay anonymous. I'm quite certain most of you sackless pricks wouldn't say half the hateful shit you say here, in person and in mixed company. You save it for here and I accept that.

As I said earlier, the world is changing, and I think acceptance will be more and more important and necessary for survival as we head in to the future. Weaponry is becoming more and more advanced, and more and more widespread. Not too long in to the future most any country will be a couple button pushes away from oblivion. Any intelligent person that realizes that, should also realize the value of accepting people not only in your own neighborhood/country, but all over the world. I wish the word "tolerant" was used more like it used to be. Some people have a problem with the word "accept" but tolerant is much better in my opinion. It doesn't imply that you have to like it, or agree with it, just that you have to tolerate it. You can go on living your life as normal, knowing people across the country are doing something you may not like. Just tolerate it. Suck it up and deal with it and live your own life. That's what "they" are doing.

Anyways, I don't know where I'm going with all this. Basically I know a lot of think the world is going to hell, and to some extent I agree with you. Where some think "acceptance" is what is making it go to hell, others think older generations have been fucking us for so long that acceptance is our way out of the hell that we inherited, or to at least make the best of it. So next time you guys want to use children to prove a point on some dumbfuck political statement, maybe actually think about it from the child's point of view and not your own point of view. Think about their future after you and your own views are dead and buried.

I guess that's all. Thanks for anyone that actually read it. I'm just over arguing with most of you shmucks so if you are ever wondering my opinion on something, please refer to the text within this post.

kthxbye

I skimmed through it but it's basically someone who clearly doesn't have a clue about what's really happening in the world today and spews the exact same BS the mainstream media spews 24/7 365 .

He doesn't realize all the hate comes from the sources he relies on for info .

You would be very very wrong .

There’s not much point in worrying too much about it. As a world we’re already fucked beyond repair and as a species we are doomed.

I'll try the glass half full rebuttal.

There's not much point in worrying too much about it. Just be the best person you can be and look for the light in the world instead of the dark.

The hate I’m talking about comes from you and other posters right here on rig talk.

Hating on gays and trans and whoever because you think they represent a political agenda is a fucking terrible thing to do. Hate the politics, hate the politicians. Don’t hate the actual people that just want to be accepted.

Hate the sin, not the sinner.

A perfect example of what I said above .

Thank you

Everything seems pretty great in my corner of the world, but I also have to understand that that is my particular view, and there are different vantage points, even from here.

I think you either choose happiness or despondence. I think before you can get to choosing happiness, you have to embrace humility and gratitude, so it might not be as easy for some.

I try to wake up every day not taking anything for granted, being happy with what I have and where I am, and continue pushing for the best possible outcomes and situations for myself, my family, and those around me.
