Aldrich++ Clip

Nice playing!

What is the Aldrich amp based on? I assume it's a highly modded Marshall style circuit?

Yessir. It’s a 4GS circuit historically. Cameron developed it for Aldrich directly. However the normal circuit has a lot left in the tank and on top of it, is tuned way more vintage. I fixed one circuit theory error in the design, added variable NFB, and my own dynamic resonance circuit. This resonance circuit automatically keeps aggressive top end detail but when you’re riffing hard it automatically does its thing in the low end. So the whole amp gets nuts fast but doesn’t feel heavy under your fingers - it still feels great.

why are you not selling this as an amp of your own?

I want a Glpg80 amp!

Killer man!

Thanks boss! It really did turn out great. I didn’t do any knob turning but you can totally dial out that scooped sound and bring back some top end. I also had the gain pushed pretty hard so it can do the clank clean gain pretty well too. It’s not an amp that has spelled out X feature turn X knob, but it has a lot on the table with just the controls it does have.

Yep sounds like the Cameron Aldrich (which Norum was actually using before Cameron showed it to Aldrich) with a more "traditional" NFB circuit and some top-end dialed out. When I did my Aldrich I initially used a standard NFB with the usual suspects adjustable (NFB, Depth, Presence, switchable caps) with the original preamp and it was in this ballpark but brighter. Great job.

That said might want to come up with a name before you start selling the amp...
