The Kirk video was way better and actually interesting.
Thanks man, also romanianreaper, I glossed over the second vid based on the title. That was pretty awesome. "This is the first guitar I've owned, that has a fan base of it's own that I had nothing to do with!", lol. I don't think Kirk will depreciate the value "that much" with his initials. :ROFLMAO:

VonBonfire posted a link in Smash's 70's thread, I would assume Greeny in action. Cool history.

I remember in the very early 2000’s my internet service was shut off for a while or at least throttled to being useless because of some DAW software I downloaded off Limewire. I guess they had an agreement with the ISP’s and tracked the DL’s to the providers I.P’s. I was in internet jail until I deleted the software.
Lars was right about Napster though. I’ll give him that, he took so much shit over his stance and stood strong. Probably because he was right and he knew it. It destroyed medium and lower tier artists ability to make any money from physical media sales and started the, tour ‘til you die or breakup, whichever comes first method, of making a living. Shortly after concert tickets and shirts etc. got a lot more expensive…🙂

This 💯

Always said dude was right.

People just hated seeing a millionaire say it for some reason... they thought he was hitler... but the fact is.. he was right and now we see the only ones who disagreed were the ones stealing music from everyone and their mother. Essentially helping drove the nail into album sales.

Kinda like biden voters now...most of em look back and say well... I guess the other dude was right all along...

Hindsight is always 2020 seems like across the board.

Lars had a good point. And everyone who made a big deal over it was just another person stealing music they didn't write.

i've said it before, and i'll say it again. Lars plays whatever the fuck he feels like playing in the moment. he is a feel/vibe/mood oriented drummer live. in the studio, its a bit more solid, but its never REALLY been flashy or tried to be something super high level.
for me, lars taught me how to be an obsessed fan. when i was a kid i read stories about him trading bootlegs with people all over the world, so i started doing that. I read about him following motorhead around the area on tour, so i started doing that with my favorite euro metal bands in the 2000's. he was very well spoken in interviews and always had a unique point of view that was at least thought provoking if not, maybe a bit ahead of its time. and he was totally right about napster and loosing control of your creative works due to technology.

Technically not a great drummer. Great arranger and songwriter. Decent businessman. Uber successful

Great arranger? That would explain 20 years of these great arrangements? 8 minute songs that should be 5 1/2 minutes. Endless, ratta tat tat intros that make up the bulk of what they should cut from the song. Does he write the lyrics? Nope.
I think all that crap about being the “arranger” etc was built up just to cover that he’s not a good player, so he must provide something to the equation. If he used to have the touch of “let’s do two of those, halftime there and double that” in the past he hasn’t shown it for longer than he had it.
