I have a ceriatone leviathan 50 on the way. It was supposed to be here Wednesday but got delayed en route. I ended up getting a black headshell with a white and black logo instead of the typical check headshell. I cant wait to get it. I have not seen much mentioned about it so Im very curious. The guy who bought the first one said he preferred the leviathan over the molecular by a wide margin although he was the one who named it so who knows??
 
Yeah man, really interested to hear your thoughts on the Leviathan. Ceriatone has at least 5 or 6 amps that would be great to try out/own. Too bad that leviathan can’t make a pit stop here. :LOL:
 
I am also curious about this. I have been thinking of trying them out.

What's weird is you never hear anyone mention owning one but I have seen a bunch of post on Facebook from people who have ordered one or have just gotten one but no posts or vids..

I just checked and is in Kentucky now so hopefully I will have it by Monday.
 
So since I was having it delivered to my work and we are closed for the rest of the year. UPS let me pick it up at a customer center this morning. I drove across town to find out it was at a service center 5 minutes away from my house.

Anyway got it and I'm getting acquainted with it at the moment.

First impression is pretty damn positive.
 
Awesome! Glad it got there in one piece. Shipping is risky enough (as you and I know). Shipping during Xmas time is super risky. So many more packages being delivered that the potential for it getting tossed/dropped or who knows is even worse.

Ok so I've had a quite a few minutes with it. So as far as I know the guy who originally ordered it basically used the butterslax as the jumping off point but to me it seems closer to the BE. It has a lot more low end than I expected. Channel 2 reminds me more of the Splawn Nitro I had vs a JBE. Channel 3 doesnt has a bit more gain but doesnt seem as gainy as the demos I saw of the butterslax which I liked. Channel 1 can do an awesome classic rock tone and with the clippers defeated it does a decent Marshally clean but eff cleans I want some crunch on ch1

I really like that it's not overly polished. And the mid boost was a nice tweak. Haven't experimented much with the bright switches.

So it basically has an Era and sat switch on the back plus external bias points. A loop you can turn on and off.

I think if you are looking for a 1 to 1 copy of a butterslax just get a used butterslax for a couple hundred more. If you want a flexible hot rodded Marshall this is damn nice. I had a Molecular and really enjoyed it so I wanted one with a second channel. I ended up going with this instead and so far I have no regrets.

The only complaint I have so far is and it's a minor one is I wish it was a bit more aggressive. I do need to experiment more with it. I basically just dialed everything to noon and played whilst flipping switches.

Unfortunately my wife was feeling sick and bitchy all day yesterday and today but I did get to play it while she was at the doctor today. This freaking thing is loud for a 50 watt. Reminds me of the VTM60 volume wise.

If you liked the Molecular you would really enjoy this. It's way more flexible. Channel 2 on it's own can get tones comparable to the molecular. I played some Ozzy on Channel 2 and was quite happy. Then jammed some Thrashy type stuff on Channel 3 like anthrax and megadeth as well as some stuff like King Diamond. It uses the Era switch which seems to function on channel 2 and channel 3. I still need to try the loop but I sold most of my pedals so the HX Stomp is really the only effects I have and I feel to lazy to do the 4cm. I havent felt the need to boost it yet which is a huge plus.

Sounds like a great amp! Glad you’re digging it. How long did it take to get it?
 
took about 15 weeks. I am digging it a lot. I still need to find more time to experiment it. there is a lot of options. It's killed my G.A.S. for a Splawn and other Marshall type amps.
