Thinking about doing the amp classes this fall. Any thoughts on what we should build? Already did the hot-rodded Marshall. What do you think might be cool? Maybe AC30ish or Dr Z? How about a heavy gain like the Armageddon. Ideas? Need to keep it simple.

Damn Bruce... wish I was back from deployment for this! I would love to build something simple... 2 channel, clean ac30 and a eg3 distortion channel!

Hey Bruce,

I loved the class back in '07. I'd love to come back.

If you want to keep it simple (and avoid the need for you or Ian to do any pre-wiring), how about doing a 5E3 type amp. Something with a bit more power and some additional bite available, a la the Tungsten Crema Wheat would be awesome.

Very exciting news! I missed the boat on the seminars right around the GC launches. I am very interested in attending.

In terms of suggestions for the type of build a versatile amp seems apropos. The VX "clean" tone is certainly one of your best designs and I think a no brainer for the foundation. I am also very into the EG5 and EG3 saturated tones. I do also LOVE the COD B channel for leads. That is a very tall order for a seminar build but I would be extremely satisfied with a VX/COD type circuit.

Any chance at all of a CA seminar now that John and crew are setup out here?

Where are they held and what is the cost? I would LOVE to do this! Dates? I am thinking a Fender-y clean thing would be fun, I like that Vox idea...

Yes! I've been waiting to do this! AC30-style amp would be killer.

Who doesnt love an AC30ish tone?! That would be my vote.

I'd be in as long as the price hasn't gone too much from last time.

Me too, it depends on the time of year to and my schedule. 5E3 or a Vox would be sorta AWESOME!!!

wow, this would be absolutely cool as hell...

2 channel, hi gain monster with an AC30 clean side!

AC30'is/Dr.Z'ish as long as it has a Master Volume of some sort. Would it be hard to do an 18 Watt Marshall and AC15 like a 65amps but hot rodded? Thats enough watts for most :)

I want in on taking the class for sure. I've been wanting to do this for a long time.

yup, a quartet of el-84's with a bit more versatility and gain in the front but without channel switching. Maybe a foot-switchable gain-boost? Probably too complicated for a "Class build"? Dr. Z'ish would be nice, however.

I think I'd have to request at least an octal power tube design. I think it would be much more versatile than EL84's

AC15 or DLX would be cool. Or Marshall again - but maybe 18-watter? That said, with the recent addition to my family the chance of me attending out-of-country amp building seminar in the near future is relatively low . . .

I'd love to see a hot-rodded AC15 or AC30! Or maybe a hot-rodded bassman. As long as it's hot-rodded, I'm game.

(Still rocking the JTM45 from the first amp seminar!)
