Amp combinations- suggestions

i really like the bass & mid on vh4.any suggestion what amp for the highs that mix well with vh4?im talking about chnl3 & 4 on vh4.

I can't speak from experience, but quite a few seem to like the VH4 / Marshall combo. It seems to work for Adam Jones.

Currently running a VH4/Uberschall combination.

The best metal sound I've ever heard! Kills with 498T, Duncan Custom, JB, EMG81, Classic 57, as well as Duncan 59, EMG81 neck; just all around amazing!

One of those radial switchbones are the best for that as it has a phase switch. When you change channels on the Herb do you notice a wide phase issue?

It's not just about switching channels. Changing the volume on one amp a little bit can shift it all radically. When you run 3 amps you will need to be prepared to deal with this shit, but when you find the right settings it's really HUGE. I have no problems working with my Lehle. High priced unit & still sucks tone, despite of what people may say; it gets the job done, it's all that matters.

my bad- the Switchbone only does two amps at once. The Drag control ,Phase switches + tuner out are indispensable IMO.

Few steps to greatness...

1) VH4 with EL34 and Fender Twin Reverb
2) Save up for the price difference between a Bogner XTC Classic and the Twin
3) Sell your Twin
4) Buy the XTC Classic
5) Rebias the VH4 for 6L6

The best amp combination I have ever heard was My Diezel Einstein (100w) with EL34 winged c's, and a THD Flexi with KT66's. Fantastic blend of tone!

The mix of the thd power - amp distortion and harmonics with the diezel pre - amp distortion and low end is hard to beat. The two side by side into 4x12's had a killer attack/envolope. Great for chug with a lot of dynamics.

I think we wrecked the original thread. Almost any Fender would be good. Also check into the Peavey Classics. A Combo would be great because you wouldn't need a cab switcher or 2 cabs.
