What do you mean by compliment? run together? have it there when you wanna go on a completely different direction than the Herbert takes you?

mainly for recording....an amp that sounds well with the herbert....
i got a 5150 and a krankenstein (which work great together) but somehow both are not working with the herbie.

hmmm how much are you willing to spend?
you mentioned an Engl SE, and Uberschall so you must be willing to pay a lot.
honestly, a lot of ppl like the VH4 + Herbert combo..... you get to keep the Diezel flavor, but they are different, VERY different. VH4 tighter, clearer. Herbert a bit looser, more scooped (if you want that), more saturation.
Also a nice Marshall would work great with a Herbert.....
think about a MAKO.... those sound GREAT
and obviously a nice RoadKing or Roadster could do it for you.
if I where you, I'd get a Randall modular series or an Egnater Mod50 and just get a bunch of modules....

Bogner Uberschall 
Do you run the mid-cut when playing? Those two can get a nice metal "scooped" sound without actually killing the mids entirely.

Hi...thanks for your answer, but i am really focused on these two in the end, as i really like the tones. a friend of mine got a vh4, so i could borrow this from time to time for sure....
so question is bogner or engl.....i am tending to the engl somehow, as i think the amp offers more than the bogner....on the other side, i really like that bogner tone too.

In terms of options and stuff the SE has way more, midi cabable, 4 channels, plus a bunch of buttons to tweak the voicing. The Uberschall you are pretty much buying it for the tone. Doesn't really have much to it, ch. 1 is pretty much useless if you have a Herbert, but Ch. 2 is where it's at. Also considering used prices the Uber is ~1700-1800, the SE used is about ~2600-2700 so you are paying about $1k more. But even with all the bells and whistles which tone do you like more?
I personally love both of them, the Uber has its signature looseness/saturation to the tone. The SE has this signature high end to it that not everyone likes. Not sure how to describe it

yes that's the prob...i like both amps and here in germany they are about the same price.....so no advantage in price for one or the other

I recently sold my ENGL blackmore with V60 cab to my bandmate, I never ran it simultaneously with one guitar to my Herbert+ENGL, but side by side with both of us playing, they sound awesome

On the actual Diezel website, the Divinity Herbet clip in the soundclip section. It's mixed with an Uber.
