G'day all - I've had some fun reading through the 80's thread so interested to know what the crowd here dug in the 90's.
Top 3, top 10, I don't care - might remind me of some stuff I'd forgotten or missed

For me:
1. Soundgarden - Superunkown
2. AIC - Dirt or Facelift
3. Tool - Aenima

AIC - Facelift
Depeche Mode - Violator
NIN - Broken
Ozzy - No More Tears
Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream
Soul Coughing - Ruby Vroom
Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger
STP - Core
White Zombie - Astro Creep 2000

1990 Winger - In the Heart of the Young
1991 Scott Henderson/Gary Willis - Tribal Tech ~ Tribal Tech

Honourable mentions:

Bunch of Mr. Big stuff
1990 Steve Vai - Passion and Warfare
1991 Baby Animals - Baby Animals
1992 Lee Ritenour - Wes Bound (Brilliantly-engineered and produced album)
1992 Shawn Lane - Powers of Ten
Heaps of Japanese fusion from Casiopea, Dimension, T Square and so on.

Gonna stop there 'cause it's taking too long to find good stuff in my iTunes library. The hit : miss ratio compared to the '80s is staggeringly-low.

EJ - Ah Via Musicom
RATM - RATM
Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magic

Notable:
Foo Fighters - Colour and Shape
AIC - Dirt
Soundgarden - Superunknown
Pantera - Cowboys but Vulgar is close

Not a grunge guy, and much prefer the 70's and 80's, but I dig some of the metal from the era:

Chris Poland - Return to Metalopolis
George Lynch - Sacred Groove
Michael Romeo - Dark Chapter
Nevermore - Politics of Ecstasy
Overkill - Horrorscope

Cynic - Focus
Atheist - Elements
Pantera - Vulgar Display Of Power
AIC - Dirt
