I think not.. Had to break out Conspiracy today. Sick, sick, sick. I loves me some Downing/Tipton, Murray/Smith, but KD's shredfests Them, Conspiracy, and The Eye, are just unrivaled.

I was just watching a bunch of King vids the other day. Killer stuff! I remember seeing LaRocque back on the Abigail tour.
Amazing player.

Always loved that era of King! Also check John Norum and Billy White on Don Dokkens (Yea, I know) solo album. Extremely tasty soloing going on.

Nope! Weird how Blakk disappeared...
He actually went on to a real job in marketing after leaving and later doing Blakk Totem. I read he didn't pick up a guitar for 7 years, but did various projects once he made a bunch of money and retired. Disasterpiece was one band, but I haven't heard much of it. Supposedly Wade Black was singer, Hal Patino on bass, Rick Remstrom guitar, and possibly Snowy Shaw. I was actually in a death metal project back in the day and met Wade Black, and Richard Christy was to do drums. I couldn't really commit to it, or learn the songs in time. That was kinda the highlight of my career, I've been a poor working slob since.

Pretty much agree.... conspiracy was a definite step up in the production and sound. I love the tone of that record.

Them, Conspiracy and the Eye are the albums that I listen to the most of Kings. Abigail is in there too, but Pete was such an amazing player and so similar to Andy, it was like having to LaRoques.

Mike, the 'new' guy is equally as good, it's just that King's style has changed as a songwriter, so it's hard to compare. But, he plays Pete's solos note for note live and he also has a killer vibrato...though Andy's is next level.

Me too...excited for the new Live album though. Sounds killer. Might grab it on vinyl

They are definitely hard to beat. Although the boys in Angra were pretty damn killer too.

LaRocque/Blakk are metal's answer to chocolate and peanut butter. SOOOO good together. Andy is my damn hero anyway. Too bad things went so goofy with Pete.

I don't mind Mike Wead at all though, he's pretty damn awesome too!

Enough of this talk. It's sad these days are gone, nothing like this type of guitar work is happening these days.

Oh no doubt. I am biased as I came into KD on the Abigail album with the premier of the "Family Ghost" vid. Conspiracy is probably my favorite King album of all time. I know Pete joined on Them of course so those are my guys.

+100. Best KD production and tones by far. Musically it might be my favorite, but its almost impossible for me to pick a favorite between Abigail, Them or Conspiracy. I saw the Conspiracy tour and both Andy and Pete did unaccompanied guitar solos. I love Andy but Pete's was better !!!

Was Pete on the Eye album as well? That album is sort of my guilty pleasure too.. I like it as much as conspiracy and THEM. Almost sounds a bit more commercial if that is possible for KD, but I love it. I'm faaaather Picaaaarddd... I'm taking OOOOooovverrr, things will be different in here!!!! lol

Also shout out to Mickee Dee and Snowy Shaw on those early albums ..awesome drumming. His drummers are always great but those guys had great swing and rythm. Love hearing the ride bell on those patterns. Ting ta ting ta ting! so awesome.

Funny you mention, I've been listening to Norum's album with Dokken. I'm sorry, but Norum's tone, and style smokes Lynch, (flame away).

Yep, he played on The Eye. Funny, Snowy Shaw is credited with drums, but they used a drum machine.

His best work is with Mercyful Fate, on Dead Again and 9. SMOKIN' guitar player. I saw them on the 9 tour, Nevermore opened up. KILLER SHOW.

But, he was no slouch on Abigail II. He's a killer player, as well.
