I just received a Griffin Analog Honey Bee, as you probably could have surmised from the title of this thread. If you would have asked me, I would hands down say I am a guy who loves gain, and can really stack it on for a huge screaming sound.

All current testing performed in a high headroom clean (black and tweed) on a strat with vintage output alnico IIs.

The Honey Bee is not that crazy, uncontrolled monster. No, this pedal is quite tame when it comes to gain levels, but it packs a big punch and is extremely transparent, responsive, and dynamic. (BUZZ words)

It's true though. The nature and gain controls have an interesting relationship with one another in a way I have not yet fully been able to flesh out. You can get a good sound with almost any setting it seems like on this.

Again, not a high gain pedal at all, but it gives you that sting! Helps you sustain and push and have nice grit and edge. Can make you sound HUGE but in a way that doesn't alter your original sound too much. Throw a compressor in front and you just have this wonderful, big, bluesy, singing sound that will just sustain and sustain.

Really great buy. Will update the thread as further testing is done.

Really happy with this one.

Oh, and dead quiet as well. I don't know how he does it.

Wayne, you rock!!!

That one is a sleeper in the high gain world .............. very unique circuit ..... responds really well to picking dynamics ...

you can run it into a high gainer and not mud it up at all .... there's a reason why the real deal ones are 300 - 400 bucks

Absolutely. This is one of the most 'controllable' gain pedals I may have. The Glo has a really cool thing too but... Nothing sounds quite as big as this pedal does. Everything else kinda squishes the sound a bit into something else, and this just keeps you clear but gives you that drive you need.

I can't wait to run this into my crunch channel, I can just imagine this being one of those things you just find a part for in every track. Could work well for a crushing rhythm or that sweet, fat, dynamic lead.

Shocked. So glad I went with your recommendation.

I have to upload pics of this thing as well! The matte black with the bee logo and text is just too sweet looking.

For anyone who has not tried one of Wayne's pedals, you are seriously missing out.
