My ‘55 LP Special with the factory wrap around intonated pretty well. I went ahead and grabbed the Music City bridge for it. It intonates about perfect now. Recorded alot of stuff for my new cd with it. Lots of more complex chords and voicings. No issues at all.
Not that I’ve played mass amounts of them, but the ones I have tried that just have the stop tail bridge all had sharp 3rd string intonation. Obviously you just have to replace it with one that’s compensated or adjustable, I’m just saying it’s dumb and cheap as hell to begin with.

I feel like they re-release either this thing or the Wilshire every few years
Right?? ?

I’ve been holding my breath for years that Epiphone would re-issue the airstreamer

They were originally designed for the wound G string back in the day. Mimicking an acoustic guitar setup. Most of the ones I have seen have some set screws to adjust the “length” on each side. I have had decent success setting those up. Also the ones with the saddle looking raised sections cast in them work ok, like PRS uses at times.
Definitely prefer modern adjustments nowadays, but they can still work. Same with the three saddle vs 6 saddle tele bridges I suppose. Interesting how the three saddle setups play in tune.
