It's not stalking, but I've asked him to remove it from his sig 'cause a single post in any area other that OTC won't fly. Too-crass, too-adult... as you'd know, being the original author 'n' all.

If I have to spend hours every day attending to your complaints and mod debates, this time it'll be I who drops the ban hammer. 22 000 members and just like last time, you're chewing up 95+% of my RT time. You must surely know that no other mod would've been as-patient as I was in September and am now; don't push that limit please. For Heaven's sake, just dial back the ReactoMeter™ substantially and that alone might do the trick.

BTW, you know the old saying, "Fool me once..."? If you insist on yet another protracted public debate with me this time, it'll be "... shame on me" brother. Chill.

If you post a private conversation with someone without his or her consent, it's a breach, if not a super-low thing to do. If you wanna go down that road and make practically everyone here an enemy and risk getting banned too, well that's your prerogative. Not a good idea 'though IMHO. I know 100% that all the mods would see this as insta-ban-worthy.

I've had the rule book regurgitated to me number of times this year but I suspect that folks don't understand that just like most documents, it isn't necessarily fully-up-to-date. Additionally, there's always room for nuance.

Every decent fibre of your being should tell you and everyone else here that it's not kosher to divulge private information without consent. Most kids learn this by the time they reach double figures.

Pics that've been posted into the public domain are a different kettle of fish altogether and peeps have known for decades that it's best to think twice before posting pics of yourself anywhere 'cause it's... forever.

I appreciate the sentiment brother. Perhaps you misunderstood:

I said clearly that if you followed through, you'd be banned. It wouldn't even matter what I thought of a move like that 'cause, as I suggested, the other mods would strike the hammer anyway.

It's just such a low act and it will elicit a reaction like the one I suggested you'd get - universal distain from the forum and a very-likely ban. Peeps just don't do that shit and get away with it man.

I hear ya Brother Dave but I'm not gonna do somethin' like that due to an inconvenience. I try to operate with a fair, empathetic hand. Every member receives his due consideration. Donnie hasn't broken any rules and until yesterday has been well-behaved this time 'round AFAIC, and credit goes to him for that.

Sometimes a straw breaks the camel's back and it sounds like, for whatever reason, that happened yesterday when Donnie suddenly "turned" and "struck back". It happens.

If you guys had dialled the ad-hominem posting back and focussed more on "debating" the guy, the shit show wouldn't have happened. If Donnie hadn't struck back, the shit show wouldn't have worsened.

Teacher doesn't care who starts the tit-for-tat game at this point and therefore sees all participating parties as guilty and cause for her headache.

In the interest of a happier, fun place to hang out therefore, I implore you all to give it a rest. There're plenty of other shiny objects scattered about hither and thither that one can focus on for entermatainment. I mean, even the best movies can't be watched on-repeat forever; you need a break or an end to it at some point for the sake of your sanity.

The teacher analogy was Donnie's idea and I thought it'd be fun to roll with that, so there you have it. :LOL:

One last comment:
If you guys enjoy having an OT sub-forum, you might want to consider the ramifications of turning it into an endless shit show. I've had the bigger picture in-mind all along and sometimes I get the feeling you guys haven't thought it through.

You know? I have everyone's best interests at-heart. A tiny bit of self control can make a world of difference in the long run.
