Any Hot Rod Marshall guys who prefer a Fender and pedals?

I've been getting into building pedals lately and really like the tones Brian Wampler gets from his Fender Deluxe Reverb either with or without pedals. I've never owned or played a Fender and was curious just how close a pedal can do a Hot Rod Marshall tone into a Fender?

Damn well. My DRRI is an awesome pedal platform. You’re limited by wattage and the cab size but it’s a solid choice if you don’t need huge power.

I use a silverface Bassman into a 4x12 with g12-75's. Right now I am using a Bogner Blue pedal for a boost/OD and sometimes a Tubescreamer. I wouldn't say it has that classic Hot Rod Marshall tone but it gets the job done.

my caline englishman does the marshall thing very well for $32. i love pedals into a clean amp but its usually to get some different flavors than marshalls

man....I found a killer deal on two evil twin Rivera era black knob twins with two Fender tone master 4x12's with gk-100's semi local. My first real amp was a fender super 60 red knob combo. I'm really....really...REALLY...trying to talk myself out of getting them. Twin and 4x12 on each side with my tremoverb stack in the middle. My new custom pedal will be perfect driving one of those...or possibly both. Fuck---what to do? I have been playing a lot of Ted Nugent love songs lately and that does not help....lol....

A SF Bassman is pretty close to a classic 45/50W Marshall so this is going to get a pretty good boosted-Marshall sound compared to any kind of classic Fender. There was a time, when a lot of people would purchase those Bassman to mod into hot rodded Marshalls as they sold for a lot less than Marshalls. No idea if that's currently the case.

This is the Steel panther Butthole Burner into a Fender Vibroverb:

The Okko Diablo is really good, too. It sounds darn close to my JCM800 into the low input of the JCM800, or a Fender, or the clean channel of the EVH 50S or Mesa .50 Cal+.
A DS1 into a cranked Fender is the Nirvana dirt sound. My Analogman DS-1 nails that sound.
A Deluxe Reverb or Bassman on the edge of breakup, pushed with a good overdrive or distortion can get Marshally in a great way.
Loud volume is the key. Push some air. Get the power tubes breathing. My bf Dual Showman has to be pretty loud to sound good with dirt pedals.
But a good Marshall has to move some air, too.

I wouldn’t say I prefer it but I always have one of these rigs around. So versatile. So easy to go stereo. Fun to try different pedals. I have a Cameron modded Bassman now for this and kills.

There's that riff I love so much! Man, that sounded great.. definitely modded Marshall there. What Fenders available today are like your Vibroverb?

I've heard some decent pedal into Fender tones, but preferred to a good Marshall? No way.
Do you think the Fenders could do more of the Mesas and SLOs since it has the same or similar power tubes than the Marshalls?

This sounds awesome.

Great amp, and the pedal is no joke.
I mean, it is, but it actually sounds really good, one of the best distortion pedals I've had. I've had Wampler, Friedman, JHS, Weehbo, Megalith, bunch more.
That P Melter/B Burner is goooood for a modern sounding heavy tone.

I was always amazed by Ted Nugent's choice of gear and how he sounded. Fender stacks and archtop Gibsons.

I think schematically, the bandmaster would be closest minus the vibrato and reverb. The circuit minus those things is like 1 or 2 components difference. The Weber 15” helps too in this thing
